Ok, so when it's slow at work(rarer and rarer these days) we watch TV. Last night the much music video awards were on(canada's mtv) I couldn't believe the *****s and sluts I saw on this show. Celebrated! Awards for "shortest miniskirt" which included a shot of a woman getting out of a car and a freezeframe of her panties with "OOPS" put on screen underneath. Saw II on another channel where people are dismembered alive. I mean every channel it seemed is filled with violence and lust. People from 50 years ago who watched this would weep. People from even 20 years ago would gasp in horror.

I don't watch much TV at work anymore. I can't comprehend how parents can allow thier children to watch this sewage...and then wonder why thier girls dress like common hookers...

TV has moved to soft porn in prime time. Sexual themes sell and the tv shows know that and have plenty of sexual scenes to thrill the masses.

Give them ten more years, and they will be R rated in prime time.

Remember when TV stars could not say the word "pregnant" and bedroom scenes showed twin beds?

I feel what you saying, but at the same time, there are still programs that are worthwhile as well wholesale on TV, if you want o watch, all you have to do is look for them!

They are diamonds in the rough, though. The ratio of good programming to bad makes me question why I pay such a monthly rate.

The problem with even the "good" programs is the very explicit ads with all the strategically placed clips from the sexuually graphic programs that are coming up next kind of thing. Pretty tough to avoid them. You'd have to be right in the room, and even so, by the time you grabbed the TV changer your kids have seen what you don't want them to see. And of course some of the ads for commercial products are over the top too.

Our pastor used to say that he would never consider going to the wealthy parts of town and rummaging through their garbage pails to find a "good" piece of steak that had been thrown out, and that he would not rummage through the cesspool of television to find those one or two "good" television programs either. His opinion of course.

good point. The ads are worse than the programming. They only have 30 seconds to cram all the T&A in, so it's like a super concentrated sex-packet of programming...I'm not trying to be cute, btw...that's just the best description I can come up with....lol...

I get the hallmark channel and they are family oriented...even there commercials are...

what I do with the other stations of shows I like, like Supernanny..is I record it on my dvr so when I watch it later, I just fast forward thru the commercials...

God TV , Animal planet !

I like that one show on Animal planet with the British lady Victoria who goes into peoples homes to teach them how to train their dogs. I think it's called "It's me or the dog" and I like the animal precinct where they rescue the abused and injured. I find myself watching that channel more and more often along with Hallmark
