do threads get locked?

Are threads here locked automatically by a moderator after 250 posts or do you just let them "die out" on their own?

I believe 250 is the magic number that locks a thread. Unless your an ADMIN/MOD then you can post beyond that number.

I'm not sure that is correct. This thread had 286 posts and then it was closed down:
