A bit of advice:
Whenever you are a moderator and decide to merge a thread it is very important that you LOCK the thread first. Otherwise posts being made while you are fiddling with the merge function can be eaten during the merge, causing great annoyance to your readers. Even worse from the annoyance position, readers can find posts gone, but because of the timing, find bits of their posts being commented on by later posts. The last case may also look like posts getting deleted out of spite, which I'm sure that none of the moderators want to appear to be doing. Well, I don't want to give that appearance when I'm moderating anyway.
Thank you for your attention.
