What is your take on Enoch being a type of the "true" church which will be taken in the rapture before the tribulation.

For as Enoch walked with God; and was not, for God took him. How does this correlate with the true believers whom God will take before the tribulation? Those who will be alive but will not suffer physical death...

Just curious on your take..

I agree that Enoch is a type of the true church. What is your take that Noah and his family are a type of Israel that willl go through the tribulation. The flood and the tribulation are both judgments of God.

The flood and the tribulation are both judgments of God.

I am not so certain of that myself:

Mat 24:29 Immediately after the tribulation (great, vs. 21) of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:

Seems that perhaps GODS wrath is not poured out until AFTER the (great) tribulation. Which begins upon the abomination of desolation (vs. 15).

I have a different take.

Enoch is a type of Christ's ascension... (with the preceding Patriarchs also being type's of Christ's ministry before His ascension).

Methuselah is a type of the church age, Noah and His family are a type of the Church being taken up and above from this world.

Adam is the Son of God who died on a 'tree'.
Abel is the Son of Man whose shepherd blood was shed.
Seth is the figure of 'new life' and 'resurrection' of the righteous lineage being restored and appointed.

And we reach Enoch, Methuselah, Noah....

the first generations of mankind painting a portrait picture of mankind's Saviour.

That is an interesting, I have never hear that before. But I have a question concerning Noah being a type of the church. The church will leave the earth at the rapture and taken into heaven, but Noah and his family did not leave the earth. So how can Noah and his family be a type of the raptured church?
Enoch was raptured and taken from the earth.

Ryan I believe that Noah is a type of CHRIST. and, I believe that his family is a type of all believers in Christ. If you notice in Genesis 8:1 it says that God remembered Noah and "every living thing".

Just like all who was in the Ark was saved, all who are in Christ shall be saved. Noah bringing all whom God had committed to his care on to the "new earth", which reminds us of our Lord’s words, "Of them which Thou gavest Me have I lost none.

With that said Ryan, I also think that this has a twofold meaning, as you stated; Noah and his family are a Type of Israel who will go through the tribulation.

Thanks Boot CamP I never thought that Noah may be a twofold type.

I think also that Noah was lifted above the earth, safe in the ark? Kind of like the church being safe in Christ and being lifted up to meet Him in the air. I'm probably not phrasing it exactly right, but have heard and read the teaching before. :)
