Hi everyone!

I need some ideas. I have google "How to" and found nothing useful. I am not a creative type person. I have a job interview tomorrow and as a trainer, I will be required at some point to give a presentation. Usually it is best to presented something that teaches... since that is what the job is. I am a very good teacher but I thought it would be a little more impressive if I gave the interviewers a "how to" presentation that maybe would end with something they could keep? It needs to be on a grown up level...something I can show a little humor in while "teaching" and would appeal to men and women since I don't know who will be there. Oh and not to complicated would be good as well. The project would need to take somewhere between 5-15 minutes.

The only things I know are pretty basic like how to research. How to clean and cook, raise children, teach a class, do school work...I thought about doing how to prepare for a job interview...but while I may think that is humorous...they may think I am making fun...or if there are people in there that are not good at talking in front of others...they may resent being put on the spot.....so maybe not a good idea. I want to be able to interact with them during the presentation. I would appreciate any ideas. You guys are always so creative.

Thanks for listening!

Hope

it might be short notice, but in college we had to do one instructional presentation, and i taught the class how to fold an origami butterfly.

if you can find online instruction sheets to print and distribute and oragami paper is cheap at most craft stores.

origami is known as a sophisticated art and less as child's play, but still is fun.

...but i may be off the mark on what you wanted for ideas.

if the origami idea is what you might want, here's a great site with instructions and printable pdf files

Thanks Icebear...I am checking it out now! I know it is short notice but I didn't know until Friday and then spent the weekend working and asking people I know here at home. I am hoping the presentation part of the interview will not be tomorrow but in the next interview but I really want to walk in there prepare with something just in case. They always like to just spring this on people to see how they respond to the pressure.

oh, i did want to note that my class had many non traditional students in it, it wasn't your typical 19-25 year old students... my older classmates (late 30's and 40's) enjoyed it greatly. it brings back just enough childhood to be fun, but not overly silly.

Could show people how to make pop up cards, though you'd have to think up a good reason to make them.

Or how to make paper machee flowers.

Maybe Ukrainian egg decorating? Basically eggs, wax sticks, dyes, and a source of heat (though not as kid friendly, and a bit messy).

friendship bracelets?

Christmas ornaments with pipe cleaners and plastic beads? You can make wreathes, and candy canes so easily with those. The 3 pronged beads do well too.

How to make paper cut out snow flakes?

I wish I could think up more...
