I homeschool both of my children. I would have put this in the homeschooling forum, but I really want everyone to see this. :heh
My oldest daughter is a senior this year, and she has surpassed anything I can teach her, so she takes her core classes through our homeschool co-op. They meet twice a week, and have math, science, art, dance, language, and other types of classes for all grade and skill levels. She is taking Physics, Advanced Math (trigonometry), HS Writing, and a Sr. Leadership class. She got her grades back for the first tests she's taken in math and physics. In the math class she got a 92, one of the highest grades in a class of 20 or so students, and in physics she got 101, the second highest grade in the class of 20 or students. :yeah She is so excited because she was afraid she wasn't going to do so well, but she surpassed her own expectations.
I'm so proud of her. She took chemistry last year, but she did that course at home on her own, and she took geometry last year using an at home course. Then she goes into this co-op taking classes taught by Nasa Engineers and people who work in the science fields, and passes their tests with flying colors. As a homeschool mom, it makes me really happy to know that all those years of hard work, are paying off in her education. It's been a long road, and it's still not over, but she feels very confident about her abilities now.
I still have a 9 year old 4th grader at home, that I have to continue homeschooling. I've always been laid back when it comes to homeschooling, but I push them when they need it, and back off when they need it. We've made plenty of mistakes, but I see now that even with those mistakes that we've succeeded in our venture.
