Kenod.. that is EXACTLY what Emergent/ Experiential, PDL churches are about.
Love, love, Going into the world, culture WITHOUT the gospel message--as Buzz stated above.
That is why we are adament on here to show it is the TRUTH of the gospel message that is pertinent otherwise people ARE condemned to hell without forgiveness of sins and receving Jesus as their Savior.
Hell is a topic people don't want to hear about.. so many preachers just shove this under then table.. NOT good.
Yes, I agree.
I suppose the point I was trying to make is that sometimes the way we go about being "adamant" is not always helpful to bringing others in, but can actually repulse them, and cause them to turn to something not quite so harsh.

Theology, though seemingly a "taboo" subject today by many, is really a good thing and will serve as a means of knowing God more and understanding the Bible better. I should say here, however, that many unsaved people study theology for the fun of it and as a result store up a great wrath. Studying theology as an end of itself is not the goal. Rather, the goal is to use it as a means to knowing God more and understanding his word better.
My thoughts exactly. IMHO - I think that's where most people miss the mark.

Yes, it's so easy to preach the "Love Gospel" without defining what Love means. I believe it is loving to warn the lost of the eternal torment of hell!!
How does Jesus define love: John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.

Just talked about him yesterday with my husband's neurologist. The doctor knows McArthur personally and really admires him alot. That says alot as our neurologist himself is an amazing Christian man. He told us that they just got back from Malawi in Africa on a medical mission and they treated 900 patients in 3 days (WOW)

Emergent's statement of faith on salvation?
please post:
Emerging's statement of faith on salvation?
You have not answered my questions AGAIN and then you point fingers at the person asking them.
:rolleyes.. ..'beat'in a dead horse.
As you well know there is no "Emerging statement of faith on salvation" since there is no unified codified Emerging Church. In fact, even capitalizing "Emerging Church" is giving it more organization than it's due.
But, I have previously offered a biblical and thoroughly orthodox statement of faith on salvation. You can find it here (http://www.vintagechurch.org/VFCDoctrinal%20Statement.pdf).

Emerging Church is an organized religion.

Their statement of faith, though the rest of the site is in clear english, is written in Latin I think?
Why would they do that?

If you poke around the site various pages are in english and others in latin. each place the latin is used it is the same, it's a device (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/114222) "to develop a page of type samples...the Latin-like text has been the printing industry's standard for fake, or dummy, text. Before electronic publishing, graphic designers had to mock up layouts by drawing in squiggled lines to indicate text. The advent of self-adhesive sheets preprinted with 'Lorem ipsum' gave a more realistic way to indicate where text would go on a page."
i don't think this is a real church website, it looks like a prototype website to me - particularity give the [insert your name here] parts.

All that to say - "Emergent" is a rather organized movement. "Emerging" is an adjective that refers to a philosophy but not a particular organization nor doctrinal belief...

Harley, go a quick search on YouTube with "Emergent Church". The founders of this new found philosophy certainly are taking the position of an organized religion.
Particularly telling clip. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0WAYrsMsnwg&mode=related&search=)
Broad and wide is the path to destruction.

That is what I said in the post above - "Emergent" is organized.
