There are those who are sound in doctrine and then there are those who teach heresy.
There is no sound Biblical Truth in this whatsoever. None.
If you can find us solid Biblical Truth, then please post it here with it's scriptural backup.
That basically means what is the nature of truth and what we can know. In postmodern philosophy, we can't know all that much and what we do know changes.
Annddd. That is why this "Philosophy" is man's and not God's.
Some in the EC say that this is the nature of truth and therefor they build their theological houses on this very sandy proposition. Others say that we have to make the truth relevant to those who have that notion of truth, while holding onto orthodoxy
Humanism. That is exactly what is being stated above. TRUTH per man, neglecting the truth of God's word. Then, throw in the word "orthodoxy" to make it sound subtantial.
It's a bunch of man-made lies in a church guise.
It is Man's attempts at sounding profound, "funky", and deep, with no roots in Jesus Christ, Lord and Savior.
There is NO solid rock with this church.
Now... I am torn about this. I'm all for speaking the language of someone (to a logical extent) to reach them to Christ but ultimately Christian truth and postmodern truth can't coexist
I do not see how a true believer in Jesus Christ, Lord and Savior. (repenter of sins and asking Jesus to be Lord and Savior) would be TORN with this whatsoever.
WE are incapable of bringing salvation to someone. This is solely the act of God/Holy Spirit. We bring the TRUTH, the message and allow the HOly Spirit to work.
and yes, the truth of scripture and the untruths of Emergent/emerging can not so-exist together. One is a lie.
There is a third element and that is the resurgance in these churches of mystical Christianity. The thesis is that Christianity has become too much form and function or shallow motions and lacks spirituality. Their answer is a blend of new age mysticism, monastic practices and various other 'spiritual' practices from all around the world
EXACTLY.. then we are dealing with "DARK"/ "Darkness"!
O.k. what does God's word have to say about darkness??
LOOK believers, LOOK-->>Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? 2 Cor. 6:14
Get OUT of this church! Stay away!
Lastly, why don't more people care? First off, most people Christian leaders included) don't read their Bibles or have been taught enough to refute these teachers.
The refute is in God's word alone!
I believe that many leaders have gotten sucked into man's ideas.. just as man has in the past. 'new ways to get closer to God with the author being MAN. It doesn't work and it will never work. In every case in the Bible where man has attempted to "bring God down" or "reach God through man's ideas", it never works ie:Tower of Babel etc

Orthodoxy pertains to DOCTRINE.. The ONLY doctrine Emergents/ Emerging stands on is MAN'S and NOT GOD's
