HeIsEnough

It is coming ... we call it the "Millennial Kingdom" in prophecy studies.
Yes.
The timing was not for them to know in terms of the physical, as Christ stated. The kingdom also is encompassing the spiritual, which they later understood more fully. One still can't escape the expression being used as interchangeable, describing the same kingdom.

Kingdom of heaven = Kingdom of God
One would think.
But the KOG is broader ... has always been. Eternal. All encompassing. Lucifer was a senior official ...
The KOH is what was promised the Jew. A Kingdom on earth.

HeIsEnough is right on the point of kingdom of heaven=kingdom of God
This can be pretty easily shown. Matthew is the only NT writer to use the phrase "kingdom of heaven". You do a search on the phrase "kingdom of heaven" in Matthew and then find the parallel passages in the other gospels where the phrase "kingdom of God" is used in the exact same place. Here is a list I compiled:
Matthew 4:17 ----- Mark 1:15
Matthew 5:3 ----- Luke 5:20
Matthew 8:11 ----- Luke 13:29
Matthew 10:7 ----- Mark 6:7; Luke 9:2
Matthew 11:12 ----- Luke 16:16
Matthew 13:31 ----- Mark 4:30; Luke 13:18-19
Matthew 13:33 ----- Luke 13:20-21
Matthew 19:14 ----- Mark 10:14; Luke 18:16
Matthew 19:23 ----- Mark 10:23; Luke 18:24
Matthew 19:23 ----- Matthew 19:24
Clearly, the gospel writers used the phrases as synonyms.

Blessed.....very good. I agree totally with that.
thank you for your detailed explanations too. The one
question that has been haunting me lately, is
that Paul never calls the Church the Bride of Christ. On the other hand here are some passages that say that Israel is the bride.... I really would like to be the bride...but I am not sure that we are dispensationaly speaking.
Isaiah 49:18
Lift up your eyes and look around; all your sons gather and come to you. As surely as I live," declares the LORD, "you will wear them all as ornaments; you will put them on, like a bride.
Isaiah 62:5
As a young man marries a maiden, so will your sons marry you; as a bridegroom rejoices over his bride, so will your God rejoice over you.
This is Jesus of course...and his ministry was to the jews.. Notice how they are called "THE GUESTS OF THE BRIDEGROOM?" Does this mean that the Jews are the guests of the bridegroom and not the bride?
Matthew 9:15
Jesus answered, "How can the guests of the bridegroom mourn while he is with them? The time will come when the bridegroom will be taken from them; then they will fast.
Mark 2:19
Jesus answered, "How can the guests of the bridegroom fast while he is with them? They cannot, so long as they have him with them.
Luke 5:34
Jesus answered, "Can you make the guests of the bridegroom fast while he is with them?
Mark 2:20
But the time will come when the bridegroom will be taken from them, and on that day they will fast.
Revelation 19:7
Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready.
The above verse speaks of the Lamb....which has been a term used to describe Jesus during His earthly ministry....and Paul does not refer to Him in this way.
Matthew 25:5
The bridegroom was a long time in coming, and they all became drowsy and fell asleep.
Matthew 25:6
"At midnight the cry rang out: 'Here's the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!'
And Pauls writing only says this.....
Ephesians 5:31-32 (New International Version)
31"For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh."[a] 32This is a profound mystery—but I am talking about Christ and the church.
So Is the chuch the bride or a mystery as in ephesians 5:31-32 so that we won't know until the time. Is israel "friends of the bridegroom" and not the bride? I appreciate your help....

Lori,
It is somewhat off-topic but I'll respond.
Your question cannot be answered authoritatively IMO; because:
On one side, we are the Body of Christ and the question arises: How can we be married to ourselves?
On the other hand, Paul likens the relationship of Christ as Head over the church, with the relationship of the husband as head of his wife.
So, it is debatable IMO.
Many conclude that Israel, not the church, is the Bride of Christ.

So it is like Christ is the head of the Church which is the also head of His body which is the church. It may be one of those questions that won't be totally known until Christ returns. It is just that I am hoping to be on this earth during the thousand year period...or at least after the thousand year millenium period.
This is what I know for sure...
The Church is the body of Christ...and we will meet Him in the clouds and forever be with Him. So if we are with Him forever...we wouldn't be in heaven above during the millenium reign when He is reigning on earth would we?

You will also want to add this one to the list
For I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy; for I betrothed you to one husband, so that to Christ I might present you as a pure virgin.

Greg...thanks for adding that one to the bunch. Now this one indicates that we will be the bride doesn't it! 'I betroth' is definately a marital term isn't it. So possibly my dispensational pastor is wrong and that we are the bride of Christ, Israeli Christians are 'friends of the bride' and the Bride of the Lamb is the new Jerusalem....coming down out of the heaven.
Revelation 21:9-12 (New International Version)
9One of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the seven last plagues came and said to me, "Come, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb." 10And he carried me away in the Spirit to a mountain great and high, and showed me the Holy City, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God. 11It shone with the glory of God, and its brilliance was like that of a very precious jewel, like a jasper, clear as crystal. 12It had a great, high wall with twelve gates, and with twelve angels at the gates. On the gates were written the names of the twelve tribes of Israel.

zippetydoda, I hadnt really given that point much thought. Is the bride raptured? or does the bride remain on the earth? So far to my understanding, those that accept the atonement of Christ now will be raptured, whether they were Jews or Gentiles, but because they are no longer Jew or Gentile, but the sons of God, if we are indeed the bride can we also be sons of God as we can then call out Abba, Father....? The Jews who have not accepted the atonement of Jesus will remain here on earth and populate the millenial Kingdom.
I think I will have to study this out as soon as I can get back home.
Good question.

Blessedinhim.......I hadn't given it much thought until recently too. I read a book called Heaven by randy alcorn, and it got me thinking. If this is our blessed hope, I need to know what I'm hoping for. I know that we will be raptured...but I'm not sure if we will come back to earth with Jesus during the millenium or even after it? I know for sure we will be raptured...but not sure where we will be after the tribulation period.

True enough ... but the Kingdom of God is not necessarily equal to the Kingdom of Heaven.
It is bigger.
But what ever.
