Personally, I would be wary of any translation that sets out to use gender inclusive language. It means that there is an agenda there before you even start the translation process.

Actually, the TNIV is made by the same people who make the NIV and reads amost exactly the same. The main difference is that where the bible generally says "men" but is supposed to be referring to all people, they change it to be inclusive. If the particular story of the bible (for example, the story when Jesus feeds people with loaves and fish) refers to a specific number of men, it still says men.

I was listening to a sermon by John MacArthur from the Grace to You website about attacks on the Bible. He mentioned the TNIV translation. Here is what he said:

There's a fourth attack that I would just mention to you, just to give you some idea of the landscape...the attack that comes from the culture. From the critics, from t he cults, from the Charismatics, from the culture. We live in a day when culture is telling the church what the Bible will be allowed to say. A great illustration of this is the publication of the TNIV, Zondervan Publishing Company produces a Bible called the TNIV, the TNIV is distinguished by its deference to the Feminist Movement. It has altered the Word of God, changed the Word of God to make it compatible to the contemporary Feminist Egalitarian Movement and that is not the only one that has done that, there are others that have done it as well. The Word of God is not ever to be used in such a way as to accommodate a cultural perception.
