I am at my daughter's using her computer, she has a generator :) :Clapping:

The eye of IKE went over where we live, and we were in the West side of the eye. Tremendous damage in the area around where I live, trees down all over the place. I have no lights or phone, but I do have water (with a boil before use order) and food and my daughter just a couple of miles north of me.

I could use more prayer. The creek close by has risen and we are under a flood watch. The debris downstream and the water from the storm is holding up the drainage. Please pray that Our Lord will open a path for that water to drain as it will be another disaster on so many homes and possibly harm families.

The Lord has Blessed us with a beautiful early cold front and the temps were down in the high 50s this morning. Beautiful sunshine days and moonlight to help see one's way around the house at night.

My daughter, who had to go into town yesterday, checked on my house that is for sale and she said that the houses on both sides suffered extensive damagem the one to my right has a tree in it and the one to my left the tree in the back yard fell toward my granddaughter's other grandparents house but the tree in my yard and the light and phone polls broke the complete fall which would have put it in my granddaugher's other grandparents home, but mine looked as if nothing had happened, just a few limbs in the yard and a PVC picnic table turned upside down.

My son's house in Galveston, we have not had any word on yet. It is in an area that is in the middle of the island on the East end and the news is reporting very little damage in this area. Most of the damage was on the seawall and West End of the island. He is up in DC working and won't be home till sometime in October.

My family and friends are all safe and our homes have no damage so I am thankful for this and Give Praise to my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

My sister who is on oxygen 24/7 had a generator but Thank God her electricity was restored the second day after the hurricane. For this I am truly thankful to the Lord.

Thank you all so very much for your prayers. God Bless you all.

Will post again either from here or when I get power restored which may be a week or two or three or four.....

:hug and love and I miss you all so very much.

OK :lol2 I am going to try again. I was posting about 2 hours ago to tell you all that I now have power back (it came back on yesterday morning around 8:30 am)..... when :shocked the power went back off. Hopefully it will stay on for good now. :pray :pray

The home I live in now has no damage from the storm. I did lose about $422.00 in food that was in my freezer and refrigerator. Insurance will reimburse $357.00 of that amount.

The house I used to live in that is up for sale does have some damage. There are roof shingles missing from the Left Rear of the house and the air turbine is crooked. I think this happened when my neighbor's trees fell. I went in the house to check it out and there is a hump in the middle of the dining room floor. It is concrete slab, then solid oak flooring, then carpet. The wood does not give when stood on and the carpet is not wet, nor is there any musty water smell. :idunno what it is? The adjustor called and he cannot come out to view the damage until October 14. :scratch cause he has a million and one other on his list :pound

I received word from my son today that his cousin who also lives in Galveston went to my son's house and did a walk through. There is no damage to the structure, roof or interior. A small cinderblock wall in the rear is partially down and the unattached garage that faces the alleyway has door sticking problems, but that is all. Praise the Lord :yeah

My daughter's house did not sustain any damage. Her small sapling tree in the front yard was knocked down and her front garden was beaten up, but that is all.

My sister's house did not sustain any damage and she had her power restored the second day after the storm passed. I am so thankful for that as she is on oxygen 24/7. She has young fruit trees in her back yard and they had to be reset in the ground.

My niece and nephews also had no damage to their homes. Just some fence damage.

So Praise the Lord all my family came out just fine, a little worse for the wear without power, but safe. :yeah

I Praise God also that my sisters and brothers who also faced the fury of Ike are all OK

God Bless you all and thank you so very much for the prayer covering.

:hug
