Sorry can't remember the exact wording, can't find it on Bible gateway.
Where is the scripture that says God will not give us more than we can handle?

No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.

Is this it?

For instance...our family has been having so much happen. We have had 3 deaths in the past 2 weeks, a lung and brain diagnoses...one thing after another. I have been saying "God says He will not give us more than we can handle" and I am wondering now where I came up with that.

The verse that Ihurt gave was the first one I thought of, too.

Might you be thinking of 2 Corinthians 12:9-10?

I doubt if it's this one, but it came to mind, so I thought I would post it, too:

Romans 5:3-5

or perhaps:

Romans 8:35-39

Philippians 4:13

Jam 1:2 Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials,
Jam 1:3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance.
Jam 1:4 And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.

1Pe 1:6 In this you greatly rejoice, even though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been distressed by various trials,
1Pe 1:7 so that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which is perishable, even though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ;

The word translated trials in the above two passages is the same word (Strong's g3986) that is translated temptation in 1 Cor 10:13. There is very little difference between the two. I suspect that the translators translated it based on context.
