Does anyone have any information on this paster of New Hope Church in Hawaii? Is he part of the emergent movement? It is essential that I find out what I can. Thank you.

I listen to him on the radio, and I have found nothing against him. What he's preached has come from the Bible. Have not heard him espousing any prosperity stuff or wof . My pastor has a personal relationship with him, and Wayne keeps him accountable. He will be here in Eugene on July 19th to hear in person. Where are you from??

Do you hear anything "emerging" in his approach?

:hugBig Suze No I have not heard anything I would call "bad" from him. I do try to check what they preach by what the bible says. Always good to do this!!!! I see you are from my area. You can listen to him at 2pm weekdays on KORE I think it's 1150 AM anyway one station away from 1120. His church has a website aslo. google New Hope. There are so many false people out there, it's good to be wary, but I have not found anything disturbing about what he preaches.

This guy fits into the "emergent" mold, more specifically into Latter Rain - as they're the one who are "networking" or creating "networks" lately, together with the NAR. (who are latter rain proponents and dominionists (Kingdom Now), or to a lesser degree purport a righteous society and government in conjunction with church rule - which is a nice way of stating Kingdom Now - same difference). Their bottom line is : The church will rule - which is a lie, as the Bible tells us CHRIST WILL RULE.
Leadership Network advertised this event in their publications. This one is dated October 27, 2000:
The Terranova Project - an initiative of the Young Leader Networks
September 5-7, 2001
Hold the date.
I have been told that several church planting agencies are sending large groups of Church Planters to this gathering. Look for more details soon.

Past Summit teachers have included New Ager Ken Blanchard, Word/Faith minister TD Jakes and this year’s Summit 2006 featured the regular Ivy League grad business coaches and management consultants, standard fare for willow creek. This years teachers included Pastor Wayne Cordeiro from the island I lived for 20 years, Oahu, Hawaii. He is the epitome of the seeker friendly paradigm pastor and has a huge church. He has promoted a dangerous therapy program called Cleansing Stream, featured church produced programs recommending local churches with women pastors and recently took a short sabbatical to a monastery complete with vows of silence. He suffered from anxiety attack and sought psychiatric help. Many find his vulnerability refreshing but is this really the type of leader we need to train us. It appears he ahs some serious issues of his own to deal with. He has also spoken with some of the locally worst false teachers imaginable.(this info from the article; “Burnout a Reality for many in Clergy”, Honolulu Star-Bulletin, Sunday, Aug. 20,2006).

I don't know about this person, but I know about "Cleansing Streams" and it would have never occur to me to call it a "dangerous therapy program".
When my husband and I were newly weds it was offered at our church and we took it to get to know other couples. To us the whole thing was B_O_R_I_N_G. It is a very basic Bible study that includes the topics of salvation, walking in the Spirit and renouncing past sins and evil. It was created by a pastor trained under Jack Hayford from Church of the Way in Calif.
I understand that anything can be turn and twisted in the hands of who is presenting it and be made "dangerous", but to categorize this Study as they do in the article seems more like an inflamatory exaggeration.
My 3 cents.

Oh and those "recommending women pastors" thing, that will be Foursquare Church as well. Their founder was Aimee Sample McPherson.
