View Full Version : The Ray Boltz Issue... a lesson for us all to learn

This week I have read messages and countless message board threads of fans expressing their sorrow and grief over Ray's announcement that he is gay and living the lifestyle.

I too have experienced the sorrow and tears upon finding out that someone I really looked up to and admired wasn't the person I thought he was.

This post isn't about homosexuality and or really Ray's issue... but a lesson to be learned for us all, and especially music fans...

I've worked with bands and have done publicity. The best time I had doing my work was talking to the fans. The majority though, seemed to place the musician as a "hero" and/or more spiritual.

The truth is, we ALL have issues in our lives. There is not one of us who doesn't constantly need Jesus. Ray Boltz praised and worship the Lord and had a music ministry, true. But we need to remember that Jesus is the one who should be lifted up, and that's what we need to do as well. Don't lift up the person doing the praises or ministry.

We are human, and we will always fail at some point or another, but God will never let us down.

A music ministry is also a business. Just like us, when we go to church or a meeting with other christians, we will dress better and try to display a better image of ourselves. In fact, when I have pictures taken of myself, I take ALOT! I trash the ones that don't look so good and put up the ones that I think look best.

It does hurt when we find out faults or sins of those who we've admired, but let that be a lesson learned that we all have our faults and issues... Some of us have many, many issues.
That's why we need Jesus, right?

It is Jesus who should be lifted up!

As far as the issue of him being gay goes.... I don't think much about that stuff because I pretty much mind my own business... I've got enough issues of my own, LOL!

Jesus will never let you down, dear brothers and sisters.

Love you all!

Thank you for that. That is so true... We're quick to judge.. But what if the curtain came down on our little "secrets"... we all have them.. And yes... Thats why I need Jesus..

Your right. We need to remember that we are ALL sinners and we have ALL sinned and it's by the blood of Christ alone that we can call ourselves Christians. We need to lift Him up and worship Jesus alone.

Jesus is the only one that will NEVER let you down!
