What is eternal life? I'm not looking for accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior...that's how to get eternal life. I'm looking for a specific answer, an answer out of one of the gospels.

Here's one answer from the gospels:
And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom You have sent. (John 17:3)

Living in God's presence for eternity--that's eternal life. Living in Hell without God's presence for eternity--that's eternal death.

The human spirit cannot die, per se--it's eternal. It can only live in one place or the other.

Dang Obadiah! You're right on the money. That is what I was looking for. Eternal life is knowing God. I think I shouldn't have mentioned 'out of one of the four gospels.'

When we realize that...it kinda puts a new perspective on things.
