The Journey of Desire
by John Eldredge

Sometimes it seems we just can't get what we want. Circumstances thwart our best-laid plans. We struggle to live a heartfelt life. Worst of all, says Eldredge, the modern church mistakenly teaches its people to kill desire (calling it sin) and replace it with duty or obligation (calling it sanctification). As a result, at best Christians tend to live safe, boring lives of resignation. At worst, their desire eventually breaks out in destructive ways such as substance abuse, affairs, and pornography addictions. In The Journey of Desire, Eldredge invites readers to rediscover God-given desire and to search again for the life they once dreamed of.

This is so blatantly anti-christ. This author also wrote "Wild At Heart" which basically says men want to be in the wild or wilderness because Adam was created OUTSIDE the Garden of Eden, while Eve was created INSIDE the Garden. The whole time Adam was in the Garden in communion with God, he wanted to GET OUT. :ohno

Yes, John Eldredge is another one who has given readers the wrong information. And Christians have lapped up like a thirsty dog!

Yup.. and all recommended by Rick Warren's Saddleback.:tsk:tsk

Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time1 John 2:18

No doubt about it. Rick Warren is definitely a "new age Christian". Reading through the descriptions of the "new age" books on his website is very deceptive as they sound so "spiritual". All I can think of is what pastor Joseph Chambers of Paw Creek Ministries stated many years ago, "poison usually comes mixed with good taste".
