I went to the Women of Faith National Conference this year. First time I've ever been. It was AMAZING!!!! :yeah Well, Sandi Patty is now part of the Women of Faith team, and the package deal of books was her new book, Falling Forward.

I admire her so much! She talks about her affair, the poor choices, forgiveness, and the like. But more than that, she talks about the root of the problem.

One thing she wrote has stuck out to me in a major way.

We always talk about how "time heals all wounds." I actually disagree with this, but then, after reading what she has to say about it, I now know why.

Time doesn't HEAL all wounds, time instead puts a scab over the wound. But if you do not actually DEAL with what is going on, why it happened, etc., the scab will be over the actual wound, but underneath the scab infection start setting in. Over the years, the infection gets more and more icky.

This is why we continually fall back into things that we know are not good for us. Because we haven't gotten to the root of the problem- the infection.

Anyways, a definite good read!

The book I'm reading sounds similiar but its called Broken on the Back Row written by Sandi Patty and tells of her childhood, career and her affair along with the Lord's grace and forgiveness. This book is pretty good but I was kind of wondering what the difference is between the two books?

I think Sandy Patti got some very poor advice. When her affair and fall happened, her pastor advised her to keep quiet, that the public didn't need to know anything. Her pastor thought her sin was not against the public but I very strongly disagree. But she already was someone girls and young ladies looked up to and admired. The influence her actions had on her fans was big. Some sort of public repentence was needed. She can not get back what she lost there. But she did repent and the Lord has given her a ministry.

I'm not sure of the difference between the two, but I have ordered Broken on the Back Row. I'll let you know, after I read it.
