I know looking at the Dow is enough to make you sick, but I for one am relieved this bill did NOT pass!

What was making me sicker was thinking of the government growing and becoming the gatekeepers of our financial institutions. How long before the gov started deciding who could have loans, who could open a business, etc?

On the BRIGHT SIDE: Oil dropped over $10.00 a barrel today and is expected to continue dropping like a stone! UNLESS there is a bailout, in which case the futures market will take that to mean that demand will go up and hence they will drive the price back up.

Okay, so now maybe I can't buy anything on credit, but if I have an extra 250 or 300 in my pocket because I can fill my gas tank cheaper, my groceries are cheaper (because it doesn't cost as much to ship them) and my heating expenses this winter are cheaper, maybe I can actually buy something with CASH instead of credit.

Not so fast. Do you think these reps are going to go home and campaign on this note? Just don't see it happening, but maybe I stand corrected.

I also am relieved. This is capitalism at its best. Every DEMOCRAT in addition to the republicans who voted NO are the true patriots of this country and put the tax-payer first rather than re-election. The market may tumble or collapse all together, but they voted on the purity of conviction in light of corrupt pushing this bill with threats and intimidation. God help us all

If you want to insure your life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness during this potential depression, visit your local gun shop now. Prices will sky rocket and thus you'll make a pretty profit if you act now. I pray the country's people do not get affected to the extent the media portrays but who knows, better safe than sorry

Simply cuz we as a people have come to erroneously believe that this is what government is supposed to do. It floors me that so many free market proponents are fully behind this effort. Apparently they never really believed in the free market and it as an example of the shoe on the other foot.

I now work at a senior daycare ( I can't believe I actually get paid to have this much fun)
and when we have to head up the news paper group, we are to try to avoid the really bad news! Let me tell ya, I just throw the paper under my chair and tell them funny stories (my life !?). we have alot of laughs.
Oh, this has to do with how bad the world is outside the care center, we have NO idea until we get home! My jaw dropped at the 777 dip !
