Harumph, harumph, HARUMPH !!!!!
I avoided upgrading to FF3 because of ALL the stuff I'd read about it. I was very happy with FF2, thank you very much!!!!
But, lo and behold, a couple of weeks ago those rats automatically updated me without asking! I came to my computer and it had updated!! I was not pleased!
No problems, until I defragged and cleaned up my disc and restarted this morning.
Now FF3 is in safe mode, and I have no idea what to do about it!
It wants me to make decisions I have no knowledge of making. I know there are issues with addons, so I guess I have to figure out what addons work and what dont.
AAAAAAARRRRRRRGH! I did not need this in my life!!!!!

I can't even access my personal smiley cache because it was an addon!!!!!

I'm digging around and it says it updated to Firefox 2.0.0.17 on Release Date:
September 23, 2008
Is that FF3 or not? Why did it update, but not to 3? What was the purpose?
I went on to run it in safe mode, but all my personal stuff is gone. I've just got a blank FF browser with no special goodies. I was so used to them, I'd have to hunt them down all over again. My Delicious bookmark stuff is gone, my skype stuff is gone. I'm missing a whole bunch of stuff that I had just assumed was part of FF that it's like starting all over.
whine, whine, whine... I'm drunk with it.

And yes. I WILL have this conversation by myself, even if no one jumps in.
WHY?
Because I am ANNOYED !!!!!!!!

Tried resetting toolbar. I now have a link to delicious, but just a link, not my tag buttons or icons or anything. And nothing else came back.
I checked for updates to all my extensions and addons....
None are available.... Isn't that nice?

Question, Can I honestly say I have a Christ-like attitude here?
Is it OK to be HIGHLY ANNOYED?
Am I sinning in my anger????
I have no clue! And I may be too annoyed to get one at this moment. :pout

I know that computer problems can be frustrating and confusing. I've had a problem where I couldn't seem to download anything and was about to reformat my entire OS until I found by accident that I just had to re-install my antivirus software.
Sometimes all you can do is just give up to God your problems and frustrations. Let Him take care of it all for you. Just relax and trust God :)

Since the Word doesn't give specific direction with regards to our reactions to computer issues, :idunno , we really can't be sure now, can we, with regards to appropriate Christian (:):)) response.
I did note that one of my computers that still had ff2.something upgraded itself to ff2.something else after ff3 had already been out a good while. After the upgrade when ff restarts it usually asks or just on it's own checks the addons to see which ones will work and which ones won't. I'm guessing that in your case there must have been a glitch during the process.
I recommend downloading and installing the latest version of ff (even if you were happy with what you had), and then adding back everything you want to have with it. It'll be a little work, but it is a solution and then we won't have to worry about whether or not Christ would grant us license to curse our computers and/or our software components when they misbehave... which may be reasonable. After all, up here lots of folks shoot their chainsaws when they won't start :nod, me, I just check the fuel and oil level and clean the air filter, then pray and then pull on the cord again and usually she'll start for me... and if she won't start after all that tender loving care, then I strip her for parts and give her a proper burial, as she served me well for a time.
Valerie, we'll know your back in business when we see a proliferation of smilies on your posts. Wishing you peace.

FF3 is buggy - I was automatically downgraded and then upgraded again recently. Looks like the Mozilla folks are trying to fix a blunder.

It's been working great for me since beta 5. Have you tried uninstalling it and re-installing it?

3.0.3 works great under Linux and OS X. Windowz maybe?
