Through various avenues; song lyrics, scripture, sermons, etc - I have really been burdened as of late with the desperation of God's broken heart through his love for us. As I begin slowly to see the world for what it really is... seeing each individual (regardless) as a soul that God adores yet is rejected by - I have as of late been overwhelmed this intensifying feeling of God's wonderful jealous love and the emotions he must have. Is it wrong to attach an emotion to our everlasting Father? I am not sure how this is connected to "End Times", but somehow I believe it is.

Is anyone else feeling this?

Bro T out.

I wouldn't say it is wrong to attach such an emotion to a Father. If in His desire to mold us we are broken and disciplined through Him, and that is an expression of His love - and knowing how it breaks even our hearts over one who is lost; I cannot begin to imagine the pain He endures over those who have yet to receive His Son.

I think there would be something infinitely more wrong if we felt God didn't suffer over those who are lost. God is not a cold, callous, uncaring Father but one whose patience demonstrates that He desires all to live eternally and for none to perish.

God has strong emotions as we see Him state that He is a jealous God, that He loves us with an everlasting God, and such. But I'm not sure that I would use the term desperate. To me, it says that something may be out of His control. And God is never in that position. God is always in control, at all times. I prefer to use the descriptions that He gives us of Himself found in scripture because if I begin to place emotional terms on Him of my own choosing I could be very wrong.

What you are probably sensing is the great love that He has for all of mankind. Man has always rejected God and the Lord Jesus. It isn't anything new or unexpected. But He has a plan that will be fulfilled in His time. The love you are experiencing is there for you to use to bring the Gospel to others so that they may be saved. The urgency might well be telling you that time is short. Spend your time wisely investing it for Him.

His Bride -- I totally agree with you on using the term "desperate" - forgive the expression... I also agree that time is "growing short"... I pray He will give me the wisdom and opportunities to help prepare for His coming in any way he sees fit.

Mopsie -- Thank you for your reply. I know that God is beginning to break my own heart for the lost and that he is preparing me for something. It is great to have a sense that His hands are "on me" and that I am being shaped.

Thanks guys - Tim

I have been asking God to give me His heart for the lost. I know when I start praying the tears overflow sometimes, my flesh feels lazy sometimes and indifferent, but my spirit groans. It is definantly a battle! Another thing I have been "feeling" is His sickened heart at the rampant sin! Like almost dry heaves at the filth!

We can "grieve" the Holy Spirit, but giving God human attributes such as a "broken heart" would be improper.

God is sovereign, righteous, loving and kind, jealous, almighty, everlasting, unchangeable, omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent, just, incorruptible, merciful, supreme, wise..

He is also a God of wrath against sin/evil. (Ps 7:11)He is a "consuming fire".

(note: when Jesus was on this earth, fully man yet God, he "wept".. example of his humanity.)

Actually a broken heart is not even a human attribute. If your heart is broken you are dead. Its an expression.

Might be more apropos to say He's revealing YOUR heart to YOU. :candle
Sheddin' a little light on ya! or in ya!
He's really good at that...much to our chagrin.
He's OK, 'cuz you're coming around to a feeling you've not noticed before...and that ultimately makes Him happy.
Alrighty, then.
