Should we as christians play them?Depends.

Are you fighting crime and trying to survive the horror? Or are you responsible for them?

Well, I know in GTA and in Saints Row, you are actually the source of the crimes and unfortunetly, the gang lifestyle is glorified quite alot in Saints Row. It is much more mature and subtle like in the recent GTA 4 but you are still the source of crimes.

I know in Resident Evil 4, from what I played 2 years ago. Leon(the main character and part of the STARS Police Force acted in self-defense towards villagers in most cases because they attaked him first and were also under mind control and he was basically just trying to survive and he was also on a mission to save the President's Daughter so during the second half of the game you had to protect the President's daughter from being attacked. Resident Evil 5 looks to be the same way but the games are both quite gory and has cursing in it also.

I don't allow any "M" rated games in the house, only "T" and "E" games are allowed. Some of the games that you're talking about do effect the player on an emotional level. I don't think it's good for anyone. JMHO (sorry about being in the Men's room) :o

I play all types of video games. I don't think there is an issue with them as long as you can understand that is it a story and not real life. To each their own. That being said, I also have no children, nor would I expose them to the violent games.

The reply I should always use when answering difficult questions. (I am not perfect, and fall quite a lot) is What Would Jesus Do?

Apply this to your situation and follow your intuition.

Just do this. If Jesus was in the room would he approve of what you're doing? That works in most cases.

Should we as christians play them?

Let me answer in this manner: seeing what is happening to our kids and youth as a result of having these games, should we play them?

My money is on "NO."
