I had these little bags of apple sauce cookies in the hospital in military training, and I still remember how delicious they were. I vowed to buy some when I returned home, but I haven't seen any since! I searched Amazon and Google, but I only found recipes. Has anyone here seen applesauce cookies in-store?

This isn't a cookie recipe, it is for applesauce muffins. I make these all the time. They are WONDERFUL.
1 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder (heaping)
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon (use more or less)
1/2 tsp allspice
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/4 tsp salt
2 large eggs
1 cup light brown sugar (can use more)
1/2 cup butter, melted
1 1/4 cups unsweetened applesauce
1 1/4 cups chopped nuts (optional)
Spice Topping:
2 1/2 tbs sugar
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp allspice
1/4 tsp nutmeg
Set oven to 350
Set oven rack to second lowest position
Butter 12 muffin tins, or line with paper liners
For muffins: in a small bowl, mix together first 7 ingredients
In another large bowl, whisk together eggs and brown sugar until well combined
Add in melted butter whisking constantly until mixture is creamy
Stir in applesauce
Fold in flour mixture until JUST combined
Stir in nuts (optional)
Divide the batter evenly between muffin tins
Topping: stir together all ingredients then sprinkle over top of muffin batter
Bake for 20-22 minutes, or until muffin tests done
Cool in pan for 5 minutes then remove to a rack to cool.
