Thiruvananthapuram, October 2: The 2000-year old Christianity in India will soon have its first woman saint with Pope Benedict XIV concluding the long-drawn process of canonisation of Kerala-born Sister Alphonsa at Vatican on October 12. .............
Sister Alphonsa was born on August 19, 1910 at Kudamaloor in Kottayam district. Anna, which was her baptismal name, lost her mother when she was very young. She showed an inclination for religious life as a child despite suffering from various illnesses.

She entered the convent in 1927 and died in 1946.

In 1953, the diocesan process for her canonisation started and the late Pope john Paul-II beatified her during his India visit in 1985. Earlier this year, Vatican announced the date for her elevation to sainthood giving final stamp of approval to a miracle attributed to her.:ohno:ohno:tsk

What miracle did they claim as being from her? Do they ever list the miracles?

It is interesting - I did a Bible search on the word 'Saint' singular; and it did not come up even one time- however the word 'saints' plural came up 168 times.

&searchtype=all

These groups of people who are called 'saints' do not have any Special treatment one over another they are equal in the sight of God - it is because of God's favor and grace toward His people.
It is because - that we as humans have no good thing in our selves - that is in our Human nature and all that is Good comes from God - who works in us and through us. It is He that gives the 'saints' the ability - the desire - the guidance to serve Him.

All Honor and Glory and Worship and Praise is to God - Jesus Christ alone.

It is an Abomination and Idolatry to worship the bones of dead humans.:ohno
