Question about "Legion"

Something that has always puzzled me is the story of the man who was posessed by many demons, "Legion". The story is in Mark 5 and also in Luke 8. I have never understood why Jesus listened to the demons and did what they asked Him to do. They begged Him not to send them out of the country, so He didn't. Instead He sent them into the pigs. I know that may seem like a dumb question, but for some reason it has always stood out to me as strange that he would listen to demons and do as they asked.

Christ wanted to rid this man of the demons and the demons were sent into the pigs (not kosher for Jews) and then fell off the cliff unto their doom!

It's like, don't ask the "genie" for a wish unless you specifically ask it correctly - get it? :thumb LOL <><
