I've been asked to put together a slide show of all the ministries my church does. It will be quite long, as we're a busy place!

I'd like to include some Scripture. Of course, John 3:16, and my favorite one in my signature.

What would you include? Which verses speak to you the most?

Oh... the purpose of this slide show is to continuously loop during all activities in the church. So the number of slides is immaterial.
For example, as people are entering and leaving the church for worship services, between services, during chicken and biscuit dinners, etc.

Our evangelism committee is using it as an outreach tool (for the community) and an in-house inspirational tool to get more people involved. :hat

1 John 5:13
These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

know...KNOW! :):):):)

When doubts arise, I go to this verse.

First verse I learned after being saved 3 1/2 yrs. ago.

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
Romans 1:16 (KJV)

Hi All.

I must admit I do have a few favorites, so I do not think I could come up with a favorite really. But after saying this I will put a few of them down to add to the ones already here.

Mark 8:36,37
36 For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?

Ac 4:12 And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."

This one is quite poignant, as there are so many teachers claiming that there are more ways to God, then Jesus.
Ac 4:1212 And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved

Then to finish, where it says what to do & how to do it.
Ro 10:9 The word is near you, on your lips and in your heart (that is, the word of faith which we preach); 9 because, if you confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For man believes with his heart and so is justified, and he confesses with his lips and so is saved. 11 The scripture says, "No one who believes in him will be put to shame." 12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; the same Lord is Lord of all and bestows his riches upon all who call upon him. 13 For, "every one who calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved.

God Bless you all

Oh my... My my my my. I have a spreadsheet FILLED with favs!!! I'm afraid I might tear this thread apart with all of them!!! :yeah

I'll TRY to keep it to a minimum!!! :aha

1) Romans 5:7, 8 - For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commandeth his love toward us in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

2) Psalm 55:22 - Cast thy burden upon the LORD and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.

3) Romans 6:23 - For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of god is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

4) John 3:18 - He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten son of God.

5) Ephesians 1:13 - In whom ye also trusted after ye heard the gospel of truth, the gospel of your salvation in whom also after ye believed, ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise.

6) Hebrews 9:14 - How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God!

7) Colossians 3:23 - And whatever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men, knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance; for ye serve the Lord Christ.

Seven is a GREAT number... but I have 1 more.....

8) Ephesians 2:8 - For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.

Hope this helps you!!! Much love in Christ... Joy:hug

Romans 10:9-11 That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame."

It has alot of weight cause this was used to bring a man to Christ on his deathbed

I am curious that you would choose a verse about suffering
could it be that when you accepted Jesus as your Savior
that you suffered for your faith because you were raised
in another belief and that verse was a comfort to you in
times of persecution?

What a wonderful thread!
I have seen many of my
favorite verses used already.
I also like :
" For by grace are ye saved through
faith; and that not of yourselves:
it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works,
lest any man should boast."
(Eph.2:8,9)

These verses shows that salvation is a gift
God has given us the gift of faith and grace
and we don't have to work for our
salvation.

Jesus paid it all
and what suffering
He bore on the Cross.
Please help me to
endure my little times
of suffering knowing what
He endured so I might
have eternal life.

Hi Mary, just incase Laurie does not see this I wanted to let you know that yes she does suffer for her faith. She is a Jew and only found Christ about 2 years ago. Although she tries with all her heart to show her Jewish family who Jesus is they see her kind of like a traitor and even make fun of her at times. Even so she remains on fire for Christ. He is so awesome:yeah
