I go first.
You would think that I
have been on a lost and found
diet.
One day I am up two pounds
(lost) then the next day I have
gained 1 or 2 pounds (found):aha
Dieters who have similar or
a success story are welcome
to share how they stayed the
course.

Haven't gained or lost, though I have not been putting 100% into it. I want my glass of wine at night, and that thwarts any dieting I do, though it doesn't make me gain. I need to step up my workouts to bypass my wine I guess. :idunno

You are all enjoyable
posters!
I think the problems with
diets is that it is like
breaking a habit
So what do you good
humor (no, I am not
thinking about food
again like Good Humor
ice cream):) posters
suggest to get started
or keep at it to lose
weight?
I know that if I lost
weight that I would
be healthier,my blood
pressure would go
down too.
IF I understand correctly
a sense of humor
is not fattening!
So enjoy!!

I've picked up a few pounds over the last few months. I started another 'diet' of eating in moderation today, but I kinda failed after my mom ordered pizza. *sigh* I think I'd be able to stick with it if fattening foods weren't always being brought into the house.
I try to make up for it with lots of exercise. I just started Turbo Jam and it's superfun. However, I think whoever determined that exercise decreases appetite didn't know what they were talking about! I am always ravenous after a stenuous workout.

I think the thing that has helped me the most is to no longer think of it as a "diet". It must be a change in my lifestyle and thinking. I realized I needed to make changes in what and why I eat and how much I exercise and then adapt these changes for the rest of my life, not just to get the weight off. I lost 80 lbs. a few years ago, only to gain it back because I didn't address the issues that had caused me to use food as my "drug of choice". It's become a joint endeavor for my husband and me now as we plan healthy meals and exercise together. I intend to keep it off this time and enjoy better health in my "senior" years. (There are times, though, that cherry cordial ice cream still calls my name!!)

Well, it doesn't help me that my daughter works at Starbucks and brings me home goodies that are left over. :doh
But yes, a lifestyle change is what is needed and IMO a diet is just a temporary fix. Still struggling with it, as I am overweight and have blood pressure issues too. I also have hypothyroidism, which makes it a bit harder to lose and yes I'm on medication for it.

One thing I have learned is that for me, if there is an eating schedule, I do much better at eating healthy meals. My dh works days and I work nights. I have gone back to scrounging and eating on the fly. When I was working days, I could easily plan breakfast, lunch and then dinner at home with dh and kiddo. I had begun eating foods based on the glycemic index and had very good results with energy levels, weight loss and regularity. Within two weeks of modifying my eating habits, I lost 9 pounds and my belly didn't pooch out as much because of my fiber intake.
I am currently trying to incorporate those eating habits now, but it is a little difficult because with healthier eating comes more hands on preparation.

did I "pig-out when I went shopping
and did I pay dearly for it on the scales!
But I am not quitting, I am going
to measure and keep a record what
I eat today and tomorrow and etc.
I heard that sometimes scales is not
the best indicator if you have lost
weight, is try on those tight jeans, jacket
and etc. I know that you get the picture!
Discouraged.yes,
Giving up! no way!
I am aiming to be a winner!
