A year and a half ago this past May, My mom was in the ICU at New Milford Hospital (we used to live in Danbury, CT, and NM Care and Rehab, right next to the hospital, was the closest nursing home that had an opening) with a severe lung infection.

After about a couple of days, the doctors had grave news for us: they had done an MRI on her, and had found what they thought was nodules of cancer throughout her lungs. Thye asked us if we "just wanted to let her go quietly."

Needless to say, we were stunned. My brother, who wasn't wound too tightly to begin with, made matters worse by making threats against the hospital if they didn't save Her life.

(Now, to explain about my brother, he's the eldest of two boys in a family with an Itallian-American mom. In her family, the eldest could do no wrong, NO MATTER WHAT. He got away with a lot of things that normally would have been punished, and it only embodened him to cause more grief. He was abusive to me and my dad, but going to the police was useless because he always managed to lie his way out of it.)

At any rate, after he made the therats, a friend of mine who had connections to law enforcement was forced to turn my brother in to the NM police, who took great exception to his actions. After he returned to the hospital to visit my mom, they arrested him and searched his room at our house; they found THREE PIPE-BOMBS!!! Needless to say, me and my dad were horrified.

As for my mom, we asked the doctors to do a biopsy on her lungs, to see if the cancer was malignant or benign. At this point, with the situation we were facing with my brother and all, I was broken. I ended up praying to God and fasting for three days. I couldn't even think of anything else but my mom; she always held the family together, even when my brother caused trouble. yeah, she defended him, but still, she's my mom. (we call her "Mommy Penguin", after a nickname my dad gave her!)

Well, the Lord answered our prayers MIGHTILY: they found that the "cancer" in her lungs was actually INHALED FOOD!!! The nursing home had fed her too fast, and being that my mom has COPD, the food went into her lungs. When they did the MRI, it showed up as organic lumps.

After removing the inhaled food, my mom began to improve rapidly. But while she was in ICU, God used the time to deal with my Older Brother: He got a year in jail for possession of explosives (I think he agreed to a plea-bargain). During that year, me and my dad used the time to find a new apartment, and when my mom was well enough, we broke the news to her about her eldest. Of course, she was upset; but she was also thankfull that he didn't get a lot WORSE.

Now, we live in a new city; my mom is on the mend, and I no longer have to worry about my brother beating me up or making life miserable for us. And all of this was the handiwork of God Almighty. PRAISE GOD!!!

thats great news Robert :yeah :hug its nice to see that the Lord can turn a bad situation like this for good.
Sounds like your brother needs prayers to come to the Lord, he sounds spoiled rotten and by the sounds of it thinks he could get away with anything. But he's your brother pray for him cause if he continues down this path when he's dead he'll have alot of explaining to do.

Praise God! I also pray that He will give the workers of the elderly homes more patience so that they will feed the elderly more slowly in the future.

Thanks Homesick9748, and you too rylee, ingegneriae and iwlllnot stumble. As I tell my mom and dad, I'm not a good person; only God is good and I can only try to follow his footsteps. Sometimes, I end up slipping and doing a face plant! But I get back up.
