Hi Cloud Watcher,

Will you please tell me why you want ex mormons to PM you? Do you not wish to have any discussions on the thread at all. If there was anything else that you wished to ask someone then about there time in the mormon faith, then you could use PM. But I would have thought that you could use the thread up to that point. I ask this out of interest & also both myself & my partner were in the mormon church for some time, until we realised what the truth teachings of that religion was.

God Bless you all

My DS has 2 teenage daughters that are in high school. They met a couple "cute boys" at school and the boys invited them to church. It turns out they are mormons. I found out my DS has been letting them go. I asked why he would let them go to a cult, and we got in a bit of an argument over it. He told me to send him some proof of the stuff they believe.

I was hoping someone with experience could give me some examples of some of the things that go on in there so I can convince my DS to change his mind. BTW, he was raised as a Christian, but as an adult has become pretty liberal.

Hi Cloud watcher.

Right now I understand, ok here are a few of the beliefs of mormons at the side of the one true word of God the Bible.

MORMONISM,

God is many!, Polytheistic religion, but they only focus upon one god at a time.

Trinity: three separate gods.

God is a glorified man. They teach each of us are gods and will evolve into a god. (ie. Spirit babies are how we started out.).

God is made of flesh and bones.

People can become god.

God engages in celestial sex.

Jesus is the Brother of Satan.

Jesus was conceived through physical sex.

Jesus was married. Mormons believe jesus was married at the wedding in Cana in Galilee.”

Christ’s sacrifice was not sufficient.

Salvation isn’t by faith alone.

People get a second chance.

Now lets see what the Bible says.

God is one!, This is what the lord Almighty says … I am the first and the last; There is no other God.” Isaiah44:6.

Trinity: God is a triune being. Sixty times in the bible God the Father/Son/Holy Spirit are all working together.

God is not a man. God is not a man, that he should lie. He is not a human, that he should change his mind!” Numbers 23:19, “I am God, and not a man.” Hosea11:9, “I am the Lord, and I do not change.” Malachi 3:6.

God is a spirit. God is a Spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.” John4:24.

People can become members of the kingdom of God. believe me and understand that I am he. Before me there was no God formed and there will be none after me.” Isaiah 43:10.

There is no sex in Heaven. Jesus replied, ‘You are in error because you do not know the scriptures or the power of God. At the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven.’” Matthew 22:29-30.
This is how God showed us his love among us: He sent his one and only son into the world that we might live through him.” 1john 4:9.

Jesus is the one and only Son. This is how God showed us his love among us: He sent his one and only son into the world that we might live through him.” 1john 4:9.

Jesus was virgin born. How will this be, Mary asked the angel, ‘since I am a virgin?’ The angel answered, The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the son of God.” Luke 1:34-35.

Jesus was not the groom. Jesus and his disciples were also invited to the celebration.” John2:2, The groom of a wedding is not invited to his own wedding celebration!

Christ’s sacrifice is sufficient. the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.” 1 John 1:7. “In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:” Col. 1:14.

Salvation is a free gift. All the prophets testify about him that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.” Acts10:43.

People don’t get a second chance. Just as man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment.” Hebrews 9:27.

These are just 12 differences between mormonism & the true Bible. I will send you some things by PM that I hope will help you.

God Bless you all

I was involved in this cult (unfortunately) for about 5 years :doh. Please feel free to ask me any questions you may have- no holds bar. I will do my best to help you with anything and everything you may need. I don't yet have the post count required to send Pm's so I would have to answer questions in this thread. voiceoftruth has a few of the MANY, MANY things wrong with that cult correct. Coming from a personal experience, you should do everything in your power to keep them from that lost group. I will be praying for the girls and anyone else that is becoming acquainted with the mormons. I also extend my offer to anyone else who has questions about the mormons. :pray thank you Jesus for showing me the light!

What I've seen in my day is that that cult makes very resilient, persistent individuals when it comes to holding to the mormon beliefs. They train them diligently and each one must be a door-to-door missionary before they can do much of anything else.

Everything is by works and they pride themselves on knowledge and to boot, any sucesses of the BYU football team. :rolleyes The level of arrogance for a cult is indeed maxed out by mormons. Lotsa ego, and they pat themselves on the back if they get away with an answer, regardless of whether it's correct.

Later on, when they get further along and do the secret rites at the temple, they begin wearing holy underwear that supposedly protects them from evil. This has been known to pose alot of bondage to some of them, to the point of taking only one half off at a time to wash themselves.

And the inner circle is more involved on a spiritual level.

^^ correct. That is what I gathered from them for the 8+ years I spent associating with them... and much, much more... :ohno Are there any other questions regarding this cult that would like an answer from an ex-insider?

As much as you want to share. I'll take anything. I want to pry my lambs away from the wolves.
