Hello everybody.
I stumbled on this site a few weeks ago while researching parts of the Revelation. After going through part of the forum, (mainly the sections on why Catholicism is a bit perverted) I've decided to turn away from their teachings and adopt the Sola Scriptura (or however you spell it. Correct me if i'm wrong).
Truth is, I've been praying to God to show me the path he wants me to walk.
Funny how prayers are sometimes answered in ways you'd never expect.
I was raised a Roman Catholic since day 1. I was always taught that the other Christian denominations were misguided. My entire family has been raised this way.
After I began reading parts of the OT and NT (I've read NT up to Luke 15 which is where i closed my Bible today), I began to want to learn more. It's like a thirst for biblical knowledge manifested itself out of nowhere. I read the Bible during my study hall and in Calculus class of all places. (Yes, I am a high school student. Senior, that is.)
And after noticing the forum on Modern Cults here last night, (and reading this topic: http://www.rr-bb.com/showthread.php?t=48652 ) I've had my eyes open. What people say here is true. It's right there in the Bible. Jesus Christ is the only way to salvation. Not good works like i've been lead to believe. The pope shouldn't be there either. All the "rituals", as you call them, that i've went through every Sunday all 18 years of my life aren't called for. :doh
So i guess what I am trying to say is, Thank you RR for helping me understand the Truth of the Word.
No longer shall I be falsely lead to believe the doctrine of the RCC.
You've made a Christian out of me.
