Contact Emachines. They can send it to you

there should be a file in one of your folders that will allow you to make an "applications and drivers disk". usually under a folder caller "system restore".

Start by clicking on the "start" button in the lower left hand side of the screen, then "all programs", then look for the folder there.

You'll probably need to nag, threaten and beg, btw. They'll try and fob you off with all sorts of lines. Don't take no for an answer.

contacted E-Machines by email. They said they need the serial number and then there will be instructions on there website on how to submit payment etc.. :faint I can't believe they charge for the disc! I don't know how much but that's nuts. I think I'll just make a restore disc myself. Need to buy a disc first. What kind of disc should I use?

There are a few different ways of making a restore and/or back-up. Depends on how much you are willing to spend. The only help I could suggest (only because this is what I am familiar with) would run you about $150. That would be $40 for a good image program(Acronis True Image 11 is good). $80-120 for an external hard, depending on what data you have on your drive now. But this would be the extreme.

Or $20 to get the disc from Emachines. That's what it was for my computer anyway.

If you go there, you can download the necessary files via torrent. From what I read, it's legal and it's free. From there, just burn the .iso file to a DVD or CD and you should be able to boot from that disc and restore Windows Vista.
