When the rapture comes, and people are left behind, the bible says God will allow a delusion-a lie- to be used as an explanation to explain away the rapture.
Can you please explain how this is not God using 'trickery' to the unbelievers, because God is truth and wants people to come to the truth that is His word, and Jesus.
I'm not in question of this, I actually understand it, but my husband who loves the Lord doesn't quite get this, and I don't really know how to explain it to him and I don't want to confuse him.
Thank you brothers and sisters!:yeah

In the next verse it states why... 2 Thessalonians 2

12 and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness.

versus 7-12 gives the BIGGER picture

7 For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work; but the one who now holds it back will continue to do so till he is taken out of the way.

8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will overthrow with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the splendor of his coming.

9 The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with the work of Satan displayed in all kinds of counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders,

10 and in every sort of evil that deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved.

11 For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie

12 and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness.

When the rapture comes, and people are left behind, the bible says God will allow a delusion-a lie- to be used as an explanation to explain away the rapture.I wouldnt tie the two together like that. Scripture doesnt say that the 'lie' is about the Rapture, though that may well be the case.

Can you please explain how this is not God using 'trickery' to the unbelievers, because God is truth and wants people to come to the truth that is His word, and Jesus. Its not 'trickery'. God is simply allowing them to become fully involved in what they have already decided to believe.

And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the breath of His mouth and shall destroy with the brightness of His coming, whose coming is according to the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, and with all deceit of unrighteousness in those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, so that they might be saved.

And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie, so that all those who do not believe the truth, but delight in unrighteousness, might be condemned.
(2Th 2:8-12)

The reason is stated outright. They did not receive the truth, so they will believe the lie and be condemned for their 'delight in unrighteousness'.

Just my opinion, so please don't bash me...but, I THINK we are seeing a glimpse of the reality of how people will react when they are deluded...I am talking about the election and the mostly Obama supporters. It seems like there's nothing that Obama can do that's wrong in their eyes.

The reason God will send them a delusion is because that is what people will want in the tribulation. Think of it this way: they weren't raptured, so they are stuck because they didn't trust in Christ to take away their sins. They gave themselves to vain thoughts and beliefs in place of Christ. Paul said that God gave some of the Corinthians over to vain imaginings and perverse thoughts, because they refused to listen to and believe the message of the gospel.

The gospel is the truth, the word of God:the bible, is God's love letter to all mankind. If someone rejects it, then they must be basing their beliefs on a lie or some sort of delusion. God is going to send a delusion during the tribulation that only non-believers will actually accept. Tribulation saints will see right through it by the power of the Holy Spirit and the message of Jesus. God has a track record of giving people exactly what they want. If you accept God, you get peace love and truth. If you reject Him, you get the opposite of everything He is: pain, suffering, and lies.

Something like "If this is what you want, then you shall have it in abundance"...
