Hello Everyone!

After my second bout with pneumonia this year, I finally quit smoking this morning. I have gone 5.5 hours w/o a cigarette.

Pray for me tonight when I get home, look at my husband and crave a cig! lol

Hi All,

I know it's probably posted in this thread how some of you stopped smoking, but there is just too many to read. Could some of you who have quit, post tips how to get started.

I know prayer is center of it, but I am not able to take the prescription drugs for smoking, my body just cannot take many drugs. I have tried the patch but it left me feeling very strange, almost detached from myself, I can't explain it better than that, and stayed with me for 2 months, it really scared me.

I would so appreciate the tips and the Prayers.

BTW I am reading the praise reports on stopping my smoking, while I am smoking right now :doh I mean how wrong is that :sad

I really need to come to turns with not NEEDING these things and realizing I am not giving up anything, only gaining.

I've got a funny stop smoking story to share. I talked to an old friend about it and he told me how he quit years ago. He had tried and tried and thought he would be a slave to smoking the rest of his life. His doctor was screaming at him to quit. Finally one day he fell to his knees and cried out to God-'please Lord, make those cigarettes make me sick!'...so He did, and they did!:hat
