I have good pharmacy insurance so I get the prescription of Chantix, which without insurance would run about $130 month. It's recommended it be taken for 3-6 months. As I said earlier, I quit for 5 months then fell off the wagon for about 1 1/2 months. I quit (again and for good, God willing!) Wednesday, 1/9/07 about 8:30pm ET. The first day was a tad bit more difficult than the first time I had quit, but its gotten easier. Just like the first time, it still feels "weird" not having that cancer stick between my fingers. But I praise God for breaking free from that bondage!

Well today has been very very hard and I am discouraged, Depressed and tired of feeling tired and draggy.Tired of fighting all day not to smoke, But this is my frist day with NO patch or any nicotine in my system at all. I am so very cranky and wish that I could simply avoid everyone until I get past this for heavens sake !!!! I had one day ( today ) off and arranged that I could be home alone to rest and chill but Nooooooooooooooooo people kept popping over or calling or in general buggin me. Even the dumb dogs are acting stupid today! I need such a massive amount of sleep now I pray this part of withdrawl will soon pass !!!! :panic

:pray that's why I'm glad i have "the pill" b/c there is no withdrawal. no jittery-ness, no irratability, nothing. It's awesome. But God is much more powerful than any pill the labs can come up with, hang in there friend!

Well I don't know how I managed but 2 weeks now smoke free :yeah It is only by the grace of God that I am winning this war on this filthy habit ! Now I can breathe easier, Still having some sleeping probelms , but I am feeling more normal with everyday that passes and I am so happy to be getting past all those withdrawl symptoms, I probably should have gotten a script, Oh well I am still determined to stay smoke free !!!

Wow- you guys- you're stories are so encouraging! I am in the process of trying to get my insurance to cover the Chantix.... it was one of their recommendations on their quit smoking program (listed on the web site), and yet when I got a prescription for it from my doctor, they said they don't cover it?

I am very excited (regardless of the insurance issues), because I really really ready to quit... and I know my husband is really ready for me to quit too- lol

Remember that the urge is temporary. Ignore it if you can and it will go away.

Hey !! If I can do it then trust me ANYONE can :aha I am a true die hard smoker, the problem was I liked smoking !! :hehee But I prayed and prayed for the Lord to give me the desire and the strength to quit and the more I prayed the more I wanted to be free. I am still in the early stages of quiting but I feel very postive that this is it and I will not go back. This board helped me alot, Just reading how many have quit, I knew if they could I could !!! I already feel so much better after only 2 weeks and that amazes me,
