I too am trying to quit once again. Do you think smokers will not be taken at the rapture even tho they are strong Believers. I am very proud of those here that have quit. I maybe smoke about 3 a day now so am gaining.

Add me to the list of 'trying to' quitters!
I've been taking Chantix, and tomorrow is my quit date.
Congrats to all those who have conquered the Nicotine Monster. It's a real doozy. I was a cocaine addict years ago, and it was easier to quit that than it is cigarettes.
Praying for all of you....

Praise God, I stopped smoking on 26th December 2005.:yeah
I had nirottete gum when the cravings got to hard for me.
I knew in my heart it was time for me to stop.
I prepared for this day, we were going away for a week's break after christmas. I found this easier as it was taking me away from my normal days ritual. This was a great way for me to kickstart my new life without smoking.
I found the mind the hardest to conquer.
I thank Jesus for his constant strength as I know it certainly wasn't mine. :thumb

Today is my quit date. By now, I would have smoked at least 5 cigarettes. I have smoked 0. I've had the thought, of course, to smoke one, but the cravings haven't been overwhelming to the point of distraction yet. I'm thanking God for the person that created Chantix right about now...lol
Blessings to all the quitters and trying-to-quitters. The Lord uphold you today!
Today is the first day of my life as a non-smoker!:yeah

Now that I'm finally reading this thread after avoiding it for so long, it's very encouraging to read the testimonies of others with the same struggle. It's also very painful to read about the lost lives of loved ones!
Only 5 weeks ago, I quit my 2 pack a day habit....so PRAISE GOD for the desire to quit & for the nasty strep throat infection that made it impossible to smoke that first week.
