Stop Smoking praise thread!!

Hi everyone
i am a pretty new Born again Jewish believer and smoked since I was 10 years old. Before I was saved I tried everything to quit and I mean everything. From patches, gum acupuncture, even laser all to no avail. My 5 children begged me for years to quit and I kept trying but couldn't do it.
Last December I had to have nasal surgery and was told I couldn't smoke for 2 weeks after surgery. At the end of the two weeks I went to the grocery store planning to buy cigarettes.
As I stood in front of the baby wipes ,I was going to buy to wipe my hands off with so my family wouldn't smell the smoke on the fingers, the Holy Spirit whispered to me that I don't lie anymore. I stared at the baby wipes and knew that is the truth. I am a new creation in Christ. I walked out of the store WITHOUT the baby wipes and without the cigarettes . I sat in my car and cried out to The Lord for help. I totally surrendered myself to him and asked for mercy.
From that moment on, I have not had a cigarette and I have not had a DESIRE for one. Praise Him, I am free!!!! Without My Lord Jesus Christ I can do nothing good.
I wait for Him and hope He is coming to get us very very soon. I am ready to go!

It has been 1 year and 3 months since I quit. I used Chantix after the Holy Spirit kept after me to quit.:)

This is an awesome thread! There are days when I have been so tempted, not for cigarette's anymore, but I would every once in a while get a cigar and that has been a struggle. But the prayers here are awesome. I have not given in!!! I am so thankful for the Lord's grace in my life and the working of the Holy Spirit to guide and convict me.

Please keep praying. And for those of you out there wanting to quit, it can be done!
