I used to smoke 2 1/2 to 4 packs a day. Nicorette just fed my habit more nicotine. Then I tried the drug Zyban and after a week I was quit and have stayed quit. I highly recommend it, but you need to see your doctor. This drug breaks the portion in your mind that causes the addiction. God Bless You All! May the Lord quit you like He has me.:thumb
I must ask, how in the world did you find time to smoke that much in one day?? Yesterday, which was my last smoke day, I managed to smoke one whole pack plus a couple more and as much as I loved to smoke, even that was a great deal for me. I'm just curious, bc as you well know, that's 50-80 cigarettes a day! PTL that you were able to let that go, I bet it was awfully hard.:hug

Here is a thought from one of you posters.
THOUGHT:
None is easier than one.

I lost my dear momma to lung cancer from smoking in 2001 one month shy of her 60th bday. She succumbed to small cell carcinoma of the lungs after eleven months, twelve chemotherapy treatments, twenty radiation treatments to the lung, and five radiation treatments to the brain. What a horrible disgusting painful way to die.

Bless you 4given, and thanks for sharing your Momma's struggle.:hug I would like to remind others who are struggling to go back and read the posts in this thread. That helped me a lot.:heythere

Just wanted to let all the quitters here know that when my house was cleaned today, there was a cigarette that I must have hidden for "later" and just plain forgot about....and there it was on the shelf, old, stale, but calling my name. I actually got out the matches and was ready to go outside with that bad boy and then....FWOOOSH....in the toilet I put that bugger, where it belonged. Day 3 ends with success!
