Okay. Thanks. I'm getting back on the horse. A couple sneaked cigs does not give me permission to go back, right? And I need some suggestions on how do deal with visiting my parents' house where my step dad and sister both smoke. When I was there yesterday, it was too easy to bum one. So what can I do? I need to visit my folks!
"Guilt is nothing but a trap to do badly more often."
It will be really hard to quit the habit when you are with those who are smoking and especially your family.
We will be praying that God will give you the strength.
I think, at sometime when you are ready you can tell your step dad and sister that you are quitting and that is why you are not smoking with them. Maybe if you had something in your hand like a pencil, a glass of water, or whatever so your hands will be occupied. I have never smoked so maybe some of our winners can give better advise!
You go for it!

You are going to have to exercise self control, if you cant avoid being around smokers. I know its easier said than done, but over time it will get easier.
Be tough, decide beforehand what you will do.

This seemed like the best place to put this. I am trying to quit...again! I stopped a while back and my husband decided to divorce me so now I am trying again. The only problem is I am taking Chantix which really works for me but I am having a problem with depression while I am on it this time. I have been doing ok with the divorce just a little sad but not overwhelmed. However, after taking the Chantix for 2 days, yesterday I was completely depressed. So I skipped the dosage last night and will take some tonight. I am hoping by adjusting it, the medicine will still work but the depression will be tolerable. Please pray, I really want to quit. I need the help of the medicine, I have tried many times in the past and this is the only way I have ever had any success.
Thanks in advance!!

Hope, I'm repeating myself here, but I took Chantix, which may or may not have caused some depression-I've always had a little off and on anyway. (Mineral supplements help BTW) Because I was concerned about depression, I stopped the Chantix after the 2nd round because I had stopped smoking and felt I could make it without it. (with the Lord's help)Hang in there!:thumb

I am doing just fine...no cheats since I last posted. I really want to do well this time, just taking it one day at a time. Excercising lots, just focusing on healthier habits. Thanks for asking.

Thanks so much for the encouragement! I really want to quit but cannot do this on my own...God and medication are my only chance! I will be praying for all of you. Please pray that the depression doesn't get to bad. I really can't handle that as I do have a lot on my plate. I will take the medicine tonight and hope for the best tomorrow. I figure my quit date will be one day next week. I'll be able to tell when the medicine kicks in.
Thanks for the welcome!
