I have been thinking that any one of you members could do what I have been
doing namely making an up-date list.
I am not savvy with those cool computer "stuff" that could make a better
looking list. I only know how to use :lol2:thumb:hat for example but many of
you could do a much better job than me and any volunteer to celebrate a new
comer to the list could make it instead of me.
Any volunteers are welcome!!
Thank you,
and I approve of this thread....:lol2

I was managing to go all day without smoking but was really struggling and gave into the temptation when I was with my fiancee who is a smoker but he's now decided to quit also!! It's now been two straight days without smoking at all. He's gone away to a conference overnight and left me in charge of being on call for him for his work I'm in the middle of an emergency right now and I only had a brief impulse to want to smoke but instead I surrendered this to Jesus instead of surrendering to the temptation and it feels great. I patiently waited for him to call me back to tell me what to do and now the help is on the way. Praise the Lord!

and an idea came to me.
I would like for you winners to "brag" and praise the Lord for how many days or years you have quit the nicotine habit.
And all newcomers are always welcome to join us!!
Maybe, you could share what you are doing to stay a winner!

I stopped smoking January 1st 2008 thanks to the Lord. Only with His help is this possible. But I took the Breath of Life bible study course on www.settingcaptivesfree.com
The courses on this site are completely bible based and well structured to help you grow in the Word of God daily which is something we need to do to gain freedom from all habitual sin.
Here is my testimony after completion of this course and freedom from smoking...
My name is Pete, I have smoked since I was 12, thats 30 years ago. Smoking has controlled most of my life all these years, it was at the very top of my priorities, it was more important for me to buy cigarettes than food, pay the rent or anything else. Anywhere I went I always had to make sure I had cigarettes with me, I would get really upset if I forgot them. I had been a Christian for a long time but I was pretty much what God calls "lukewarm", meaning I was basically saved but was not living in His light and bearing fruit of the Spirit.
Then I really humbled myself before the Lord and cried out to Him in desperation and asked Him to help me be free from this sin of smoking. And He answered my prayers and led me here. I knew a lot of scripture but much of it came to life as I went through this course, the Lord has really opened my eyes. He has given me true repentance that I may turn from my sins and turn to Him. He showed me that, as He was nailed to the cross, paid the full penalty for all my sins and died, I too was put to death that I may be dead to sin, and as He was raised from the dead, now I am made alive in Him.
Now I have fellowship with Him, I converse with Him through my day, I pray, praise and give thanks much more than ever, specially when I face problems, trials or hardships, and He gives me strength and patience. He fights my battles for me and He always wins. I am not sin free and will not be until He takes me home but now I bear much more fruit. I have so much more hope now as I press forward toward His eternal kingdom.
