DH went on a mission trip to Mexico this past week. He just got back to the states today and is flying home filled with the love of Jesus! While there, he and others built six homes and several churches. They also got a spanish braille bible for a poor, blind woman down there. This is the first bible she's ever had that she can read for herself. Praise God! There are so many awesome things happening to further the Kingdom of God. I am just so in awe of even being allowed to be a part of it. Ya know what I mean? Let's all keep looking up and praising our Jesus!

Tomorrow I will be half way to six months, the amount of time The American Cancer Society Web Page said if an individual can quit for, they reduce their chance of heart attack by half. Feel as though lung capacity and stamina are increasing. Did a lot of damage to my lungs in college. Gonna take alot of time to heal, if they will heal. Have had no cravings and now even the smell makes me nausea. How did I ever smoke those things? :doh

I saw a brother needing encouragement in the men's forum. I thought I would take the liberty of praying for him here.
Lacrouse, I know how hard it is to quit smoking. I have only recently done it myself. I thought to myself that it was too hard, and that I would never make it. It has been almost 5 months smoke free for me. Your journey as a non smoker will most likely be difficult, but I promise it is doable, and worth it. Trust that God will hear your cries, and will deliver you.
Father, I come before you, praise in my mouth for all the great you have done in the lives of these quitters. we know father, that it is not your desire for any of us to be in bondage, and that Jesus defeated all when He died on the cross. I lift up Lacrouse to you, Father. Give him hope, give him the desire to follow you. Cleanse not only his body, but his mind, and replace it with Your mercy and truth. Father, I ask that you would help him to be strong in the face of cravings. That you would walk with him through this difficult time. Remind him that all things are possible through Christ, that freedom is found in Him. Encourage him, and help him find success, all for the glory of you. That he may not boast that he has done anything, but that You have done this great work in his life. I ask this in Jesus' name. Amen

Stay strong for 3 minutes as the craving starts to begin.Sweat it out, pray and read your Bible at this time and read the following verse. Who knows you will have this verse memorized as you successfully say "No" to your habit.

In the day when I cried out You answered me, and made me bold
with strength in my soul" Psalm 138:3

postponing the next cigarette is quite an small success .

Maybe during this 3 minutes you can suck on a piece of your favorite
hard candy as a small reward for your effort.

LovinGrace PTL! 8 days winner!! My mom will be thrilled to hear about your success!!
john boland We are so proud of you and LovinGrace and others!!
