I want to say thank you for your prayers and kind words. I was brought to tears. I felt so much love from this thread. I had read everyone's reply's before going to bed. After praying with all my heart for God to give me the strength I needed, I decided I would quit the next morning.

I spend every Wed. at my sisters playing with my grandson. Knowing how we love to relax over a cigarette, I decided to wait until Thur. When I got to my sisters she asked me if I wanted to go out and smoke a cigarette for the last time. When I asked her what she meant by that, she told me she was quitting on Thur.:yeah

Isn't God so Awesome!! He not only moved me with all the prayers and encouragement you all gave me but He moved my sister and gave me someone to share this with. I cannot stop praising Him:yeah I don't even know if I felt this strong the first time I quit.

I sure wish I posted more often and came to you guys sooner. I am only on day one but have been there before and made it 8 months. I will continue to pray that all of us can stay free of this addiction, especially those of you who are still trying like me. :pray

Oh, SavedatCamp, Thanks for the reminder about staying away from the first one. I used to say that all the time when I quit drinking. I won't forget to continue to say that to myself.:hug

Hello Mary,

I still can't send messages so needed to post a message to you. I really want to thank you again. Eventually I was going to try to quit again but had no desire to do it right now.

Things in my life are a bit crazy right now and I had not only started smoking again but also was not studying my bible everyday like I use too. My prayer time with the Lord was not as frequent as it use to be.

I hardly post but when you sent that message I felt the need to message you back so you knew I was not offended or bothered by your message. Thanks for how you wrote it to me. When I realized I could no longer send messages, I was felt forced to post so you would know I cared about answering.

Because I had no choice but to post my message, others saw what I would have otherwise sent you in a message. If it wasn't for your message I would have never posted in here. Since I did others saw my post and prayed for me also.

I am only on day 3 but with all that's going on I am fine. I am back to leaning on God for my strength. I can't do this with out Him. I praise Him all day long and am back in my bible too.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!! Wow, and all it took was a simple message to start the whole ball rolling. I'm sure at the time you had no clue God was going to use you to reach me. God is so Great!! You are such an inspiration!!

I haven't posted in awhile on this thread. I have had my ups and downs. Praise God he is still working in me. I am still determined to be rid of this bad habit. So I have once again, dusted off, prayed for strength and back on the horse. I am always in need of prayer from all of you. I want to be more dedicated to praying for all of you too. I know you are probably going through the same shameful moments that I go though. I finally realized that to get the strength that I need, I have to stay daily in his word. Those little golden nuggets will pop out just when I need them. Also, God pointed out to me, He is there for me, He will lift me up, He will strengthen me, He will place His Holy Spirit inside me ....But.....I have to do my part too.:doh I am still placing scripture everywhere, calling on Him. I would like a scripture telling me to do my part. Has anyone got one? Or a few? I am a somewhat stubborn creature. I will try to check in daily and read the posts, maybe write, but I will pray for all of us. Please continue to pray for me. I really need to stay on this horse this time... funny thing is ...It isn't the horse bucking me off..I think I am doing the bucking! Whow, we humans are a quirky bunch.
