Hi everyone. One more day smoke free. Praise the Lord. I am on day 7. I feel like I am stressed here, too. Drove home from work yesterday in a horrible snow storm. Took us two hours to go 50 miles. JoyfulSister, do you live in Wyoming? I live in Cheyenne.
HyperX, hope you are doing better today. I'm looking up to you since you have gone 17 days without smoking. I too feel a heavy urge to smoke. I just keep praying for God to take away the desire from me.
BFK CONGRATULATIONS! Your are almost at a year. I can't wait until I am there also.
Peggy, (My name is Peggy, too) hope you are doing well. I went through my ex leaving me for someone else. That was in 2000. I am still leaning on the Lord. God is faithful.
Thanks to all for your prayers and encouragement. This is hard and a huge obstacle. But we can all say our God is bigger than our problem! AMEN!

Well faith77, look at you! You have one full week down! Give yourself a great big hug! Yes, I am from Wyoming, Wheatland, just north of you. What were you doing out in that storm? Did you have to go to work? I am a stay home wife. I am in Cheyenne pretty often, when the weather is good. I have kids and grandchildren in Casper. So I am up there often too. Well nice to meet another Wyoming, non-smoking, Christian! I love what you said, "God is bigger than our problem", wow so true! Praise God, he is there with you as you go through all this. I will continue to keep you and all of our "Quitters" in prayer. I am excited for tomorrow morning, I hit the double digits! 10 days! Now that is a Praise! Have a nice weekend.

Joyful Sister, TEN DAYS! CONGRATULATIONS. What an accomplishment. It is so much easier to get on here and talk with you and everybody about our obedience than it is to sit around thinking to ourselves.
I work in Laramie. We left Laramie too late Thursday -- circumstances beyond our control. There were trucks all over the road on the summit not able to get up and many, many cars stuck behind them. We literally had to weave around cars and go off the road to get around them so we could get up. They closed eastbound right behind us. I prayed and prayed and prayed some more. And you know, if I had been smoking, that wouldn't have improved the situation at all.
Amazing how we talk ourselves into dependency. All we need is God's strength.
Blessings!
Peggy

petsforpeggy- $7plus up here in CT. I think that was the nail in the coffin for me on smokes. I've been wanting to quit for soooo long, it just gave me the extra push. Now I rely on the Lord to pull me through.
It's extra hard when both your parents still smoke...and they smoke in the house! *sigh*
I've been lighting incense and closing the door when they're home to mask the smell. My best days are when I'm at work or just out of the house.
Congrats on 30 DAYS! That is awesome =) I'll be there soon...18 days for me ;)
P.S. Looks like you meant $6hundred a pack in your post, hehe

HyperX -- Congrats on 18 days smoke free. You can do this. I have heard the first 2 weeks are the hardest so you are way beyond that! Keep up the encouragement. To be honest, I don't know how you are doing it with your parents smoking around you. Let's pray for them, too. I admire you for staying focussed and obedient to God. My son who is a firefighter, paramedic, and smoking intolerant, has been nagging me for years (not in a nice way).
Peggy - 30 days! WOW. Let's say the worst is behind you. I'm looking up to you.
JoyfulSister - Keep it up. God is with you.
Mary and Christina - Thanks for the prayers and encouragement.
Father God, we praise you and thank you for being with us during our quitting smoking times. We know you are all we need -- certainly not such a destructive and disgusting habit. For those who are around us who still cling to smoking, may we be their encouragement to quit. Give them the desire also, father to stop smoking. Thank you for your presence in our lives. Bless all who are here on this board who are in the process of quitting and help us achieve your will in our lives. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
