There is no "easy" way to quit smoking. There is no one way, either. Many times it takes several attempts and failed methods before we find the right one. I'll tell you an even cheaper way to quit smoking. Prayer. Costs nothing, changes everything. Please stop the promotion of something Mary has said she is uncomfortable with. :hat

I agree that prayer is ideal. However, have you actually read this book? Do you know anyone who read it and stopped smoking...easily, without withdrawals or further temptations? I do and do over 500 of the people who wrote reviews! There are so many people on this board who are obviously struggling, who are spending all kinds of money and taking drugs like Chantix (or whatever it's called), why are you trying to question or negate a cheap book that has no side effects? I just don't get it! :tsk

BTW, so I can't recommend something just because a certain person on this board is "uncomfortable" with it? Maybe I'm uncomfortable w/ people promoting expensive smoking succession drugs/products that have medically documented dangerous side effects . Are you going to request people stop suggesting them as well?

God is the only one that has the power to take it from us but until full trust and faith is put in Him, people will continue to struggle :sad One doesn't need a book, one needs to put total and 100% faith in the Lord to answer their prayer. Some people use the patch or gum to help with the actual substance dependancy but even at that, God has the power to remove the desire and cravings, the problem lies with 1. obedience to God to do it and 2. lack of trust that God WILL do it when they ask. The anxiety is what gets most of us but with faith, God can and will remove those cravings and that anxiety, the key is total trust in the Lord!:pray

I agree that prayer is ideal. However,

There is no "however", God has the power and there's no questionning that. Suggesting a book or even suggesting anything other than total dependance on God to answer your cry of help is lack of trust in God's power.
