You say two weeks? I was thinking that you were
25 days smoke-free winner? Please let us know so
when we up-date the list we will have the right amount
of days. OK?

Mary It's been two weeks and one day now. I wish it was 25 days, but it will be soon. Thanks.

There is no "however", God has the power and there's no questionning that. Suggesting a book or even suggesting anything other than total dependance on God to answer your cry of help is lack of trust in God's power.

Really, then based on what you've just written, people should not seek medical attention when they are ill, but should just rely on God, right?
I believe in the power of prayer too, but I also believe reading this book could help people and does not come w/ the side effects associated with other methods. I know people who have stopped smoking immediately after reading it. My husband died of lung cancer. He was tortured to death by pain. When he died they were pumping him w/ over 1,500 Mg of morphine an hour, plus pumping bupivicane and fentanyl into his spine. He was a non-smoker, but obviously smoking has been linked to lung cancer. So I make no apololies for "pushing" this book because if it can save just one person from developing lung cancer, it willl be worth dealing with the undeserved chastising some of you are giving me.

:wave Good Morning Everyone!
Another day and I am doing great, I hope everyone else out there is hanging in there and continuing to be "winners". I was so humbled at Church yesterday, there is this couple we always sit with at Church, well, Mitch turns to me and asks me, "how are you doing with the quitting smoking"? He knows all about my roller coaster ride, but told him how I am doing so much better now. He smiled and said, "We say a special prayer for you every night, and I knew you probably needed to get to the doctor, but it wasn't my place to tell you that." Mitch has been through pure hell with addictions, but has concurred them. He will tell you he made it back because he reached out to Christ, prayer, prayer warriors, good doctors, and medication. This guy knows me pretty good, and he has been a wonderful inspiration for me. I want to be as good a witness for the Lord as Mitch is, and the tools I am working with are getting me there. Praise God! Please continue to keep me in your prayers, I am keeping ALL of you in mine. I pray that all of you have a friend like my Mitch in your lives too, he is a blessing to me.
Ashford, I am sorry for your loss, how long has it been? Yes, I did take a look at the book you suggest, no it is not for me. But I ask that you be a sister in Christ Jesus and pray for all of us, no matter which way we choose our tools to break this bondage of addiction. We will keep you in prayer, comfort for your loss.
Sandy

Ashord, please don't take my post out of context, we aren't speaking of someone who has a physical disease or illness that needs to be treated, we are talking about an addiction that we allow to control us. This isn't about a physical sickness, this is about an addiction, please don't twist my words to say something they didn't.

An addiction is exactly that, it's something that has a grip on us that we can't control or give up. You don't have a choice with physical sicknesses, they aren't something you can "give up" but smoking is an addiction that you can beat and gain victory over with putting your trust and faith in the Lord for the courage and strength to walk away from it, 100% faith that He will take the desire from you....God also told us that if we had the faith of a mustard seed we could move mountains so yes, I believe that faith in God can accomplish many wonderful things that we as humans can't fathom. For a smoker to just give up smoking, it is something that we can't see ourselves doing because we are so addicted to the habit but I promise anyone....if you truly put your faith in the Lord, and not just lip service to say you did it...He WILL answer your prayers but you have to let Him work in you, let Him purge it from your life and above all, have FAITH (true faith) that He will do as He says He will.

joyfulsister, I'm so happy that the Lord has taken this habit from you, I pray for you everyday that He give you the strength to remain victorious in Him! Praise the Lord for your victory!!:yeah:yeah
