...You are unable to show me their stance on Jesus shedding His blood for our sins....
You are right. Since I'm not sure who "they" are, and since "they" probably have varying stances. For example, McClaren would be very weak on this. Kimball and Driscol (the former I linked to in the other thread (http://www.rr-bb.com/showthread.php?t=5929)) would be very strong on the shed blood for our sins.

In one sense you are right - I cannot address the soteriology of the Emergent/Emerging doctrine. Not because it cannot be defended, but because there is no singular soteriology to be defended. Pick one and we can discuss it.
This IS the problem with the movement - it has instant escape doors ready to fall through whenever questions come. Like a snake that runs under rocks when confronted, groups and leaders claim to be Emergent yet disband and claim they cannot be judged due to their amorphous and individualistic nature.
God isn't vague, His word isn't vague, and all things of God are clear. The only behaviors documented in Scripture with the same amorphous unclear definitions are the works of Satan.

Criticism should be based on original sources, not second hand (and usually biased) information.
And as another poster noted, it should relate to what they do say, not what they do not say.

God isn't vague, His word isn't vague, and all things of God are clear
1 Corinthians 14:33 says: For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints
Yet crafty and wicked men will confuse and subtely twist the truth and how they do this is by being vague, unable to justify their falsehoods by backing it up with scripture.
Proverbs 6:16-19 sums it up rather well: There are six things the LORD hates,
seven that are detestable to him
17 haughty eyes,
a lying tongue,
hands that shed innocent blood,
18 a heart that devises wicked schemes,
feet that are quick to rush into evil,
19 a false witness who pours out lies
and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers.
Psalm 55:21-22 says:
21 His speech is smooth as butter,
yet war is in his heart;
his words are more soothing than oil,
yet they are drawn swords.
22 Cast your cares on the LORD
and he will sustain you;
he will never let the righteous fall.
The very same thing happened to Jesus:
Luke 20:20 : And they watched Him, and sent spies who pretended to be righteous, in order that they might catch Him in some statement, so as to deliver Him up to the rule and the authority of the governor.
and
Judges 1:16 states : These are grumblers, finding fault, following after their own lusts; they speak arrogantly, flattering people for the sake of gaining an advantage
It's no wonder the Bible refers to them in not so many words as "ravenous wolves" and "wolves in sheep's clothing". Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves - Matthew 7:15 and "Behold, I send you out as sheep IN THE MIDST OF WOLVES. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves” -Matthew 10:16. And “After my departure savage wolves will come in AMONG YOU, not sparing the flock. From among yourselves men will rise up, SPEAKING PERVERSE THINGS, to draw away the disciples after themselves. Watch and remember that for three years I did not cease to WARN EVERYONE night and day with tears” - Acts 20:29-31.
The Bible tells us what will be their reward:
2 Corinthians 11:13-15 : For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. Therefore it is not surprising if his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their deeds.
We are to expose them:
Timothy 4:6, ‘If you instruct the brethren in these things, you will be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished in the words of faith and of the good doctrine which you have carefully followed.’ What does Paul mean by the phrase "these things"? It refers to the matters Paul raised in 1 Timothy 4:1-5 where he speaks about exposing the doctrines of demons propagated by seducing spirits through lying hypocrites.
The call to expose false teachers is found throughout the Scriptures. Deuteronomy 13 makes it clear that the responsibility of exposing false teachers belongs to all God’s people. Jesus in Matthew 23:23-33 uses very strong language to warn the people of the falsehood of the Pharisees and Scribes. He called them hypocrites, whitewashed sepulchres, serpents and a brood of vipers. Warnings about false teachers appear throughout the Epistles of Paul, Peter, James, Jude and John.
Vengeance belongs to God:
Romans 12:19 - Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
