What would I do if the atheists held a summer camp in my town?

Ans. Send them some Gospel Tracts! My personal favorite contains the entire Gospel of John, which can be ordered at www.pocketpower.org. I try to order about 30 of these a month. Of course, there are a lot of other good ones out there.

Why would you do this? How would you feel if $cientology, the mormons or jehovahs started handing out their stuff at a Christian camp? Personally, I would be angry, and want them to leave my kids alone.

That is a good question. My response is why not? (When I prepared the post, I was talking about Gospel Tracts to the adult counselors, not to the children campers.)

If you are a religious Christian, then you probably should not send Gospel Tracts to atheists. I know there are some Christians who have the feeling that all religions are equal and they do not have to witness to the JW, Mormon, Atheist or Jew. If you have a relationship with our Lord and Savior and are in line with His will that all will be saved and come to a knowledge of the truth, then I would hope that God would put the desire in your heart to reach out to the Atheists, Mormons, JW, etc. 1 Tim. 2:3-4.

The JWs, Mormons and Scientoligists are beating us at Matt. 28:19-20. The JWs are not afraid to knock on doors and share their religion. They have been to my house 5 times in the last year. However, I had a nice little discussion during the last visit and I am disappointed that I have not seen them for about 3-4 months. In my town we have the Mormons riding their bicycles, with their white shirts and dark ties. I haven't had an opportunity to talk to them, but I would like to in the near future. Not too long ago, the Scientologists set up a new center in small town Florida, notwithstanding the fact that this town with a population of approximately 30,000 people has about 2 churches on every block. (that is an exaggeration, but I think you get the picture).

There are two kinds of people - the saved and the lost. I am 42 years old and at this stage of my life I am afraid to see how many people will not enter the Kingdom because I decided to keep my mouth shut. When the JW come knocking on my door, there is a very good chance that they will hear the Gospel. If I can ever stop those Mormons on their bicycles, I will politely discuss their religion with them, but then they will get a presentation of the Gospel. (I suppose that makes me a bigot). If the Scientoligists try to hand me their literature, I will reply by handing them the Gospel of John.

The difference between us and them is we have put our trust in the Truth and they are trusting a lie. John 14:6. What are you willing to do to make sure that they receive the Truth? It is my desire to give them a Gospel tract and should the opportunity present itself a sharing of the Gospel. If I can close the deal, Praise God! If not, hopefully someone else can before they step into eternity.

I hope they know. I couldn't get over the part of the article that discussed the kids going up in the plane and seeing no evidence of God in the sky. From my perspective, the view from a plane is the perfect place to see God, as I would just say to the kids, "Look around you!" What better place than out in nature, or up in the sky, to see God's creations!

I agree... how sad to see all His creation around us and perceive it as just so much data! how far science has fallen since the times of Newton, et al., who believed science was a method to discover God's creation, not a god to be worshipped (as so many modern "scientists" seem to do)!

We have to remember - there is going to be a revival of young people in this generation for Christ.

there is?? where do you find that information? not in the Bible.. it says things will only get worse toward the end: apostacy, falling away, people's love becoming cold, etc.

I think I know where you heard that: are you now, or have you ever been, "under the covering" of a Kingdom Now, or Dominion Theology (see also Latter Rain or Manifest Sons), preacher? if so, don't believe their lies... search the Scriptures for yourself, in context. Be a Berean!

Hopefully Jesus comes back soon before too many parents send their kids straight to hell.

Why would you do this?

Or... they just want a camp where their kids can make friends and do all the fun summer-camp stuff without the religious overtones.
Most summer camps that exist are like this. No religious overtones or undertones, just summer camp for kids. However, that is not what the camp in the article is. This atheist camp is a camp which exist as part of these people's efforts to disprove the existence of God. That is not "just a camp where their kids can make friends and do all the fun summer-camp stuff without the religious overtones."

No, this camp is religious in the sense that it's aim is to disprove religion and the existence of God Almightly. And Angyl is right about them. People don't fight against something that they are 100% sure does not exist. Instead, you ignore what you know does not exist.
