My sister and her boyfriend recently got saved and of course, with an Obama Presidency, they need to know what is coming ahead. This Presidency has upset them greatly, but I just know if they would delve into prophecy, they would find real hope. Just don't really know what Prophecy teacher would be best suit for new believers.
We are going to start a weekly Bible Study, and are just going to have discussion, watch videos and or listen to audios by John MaCarthur the like. On top of that, I plan to view the videos beforehand and have an outline as to what we should cover in our discussion. God is good and I have a few people who are interested in this Bible Study. I have never hosted one of these before, so any ideas you can offer, it will be appreciated.
God bless!

:thumb Those would be my recommendations also. Jack Kelley's articles are very easy to understand and he answers any question you can think of on his site. (gracethrufaith)
Dr. Fruchtenbaum's book Footsteps of the Messiah is also an excellent study of prophecy, covering the whole picture and is easy to follow and understand. :thumb
I'd also recommend Ironside's books on Daniel and Revelation. If you get Daniel wrong, your whole eschatology will be off. Jack Kelley does a whole study on each of these books chapter by chapter, verse by verse on his site too.

In addition to the studies that have been mentioned, I would urge them to be in prayer and trust God. No matter what happens God is in control and has us in His hands. In all instances remember Romans 8:28.
Rom 8:28
And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose
This means that even when things are difficult and we can't understand our circumstances that God still has a plan for our betterment.

I have read very similar comments from a number of people on the web, who are atheists or agnostics but are not hardened antagonistic to the gospel. They had read the Left Behind series years ago and didn't think too much about it, and suddenly they found Barack Obama speaking a lot like Nicolae Carpathia (the fictional Antichrist of the series) very early in the series when he was establishing himself as the world political leader, and at times Obama seems to be speaking by taking quotes in verbatim out of the books (eg the Carpathia speech at the United Nations General Assembly in book 1), and how otherwise 'sane' and educated persons suddenly falling over their heels over this guy, and feeling chills down their spines about the whole thing.
I second the recommendation about Fruchtenbaum studies. I have done some reading of Footsteps of the Messiah over the last few weeks and found them to be informative and results of studies comforting. This is to comfort them that God will still look after Israel on the national level, despite we are now officially going to enter a phase that no country will be willing to take a stand to support Israel with actions and everyone will be on Arabs' side opposing Israel (perhaps due to hatred of Jews, or because cowardice in front of Islam, or self-preservation in fear of energy shortages or Middle East export market boycotts, or leftist sympathy of 'non-Western' side, or simply plain-old brainwashed and misled by fellow elites). Tell them that Barack Obama could be (but don't be too dogmatic about it - I have a feeling he could well fold like a stack of cards within a year because this guy has never accomplished much apart from using his mouth in his rapid rise in legal and academic careers and politics) used by God to fulfill some stage-setting events. At the same time, tell them that there will be more birth pangs as we near Jesus's return. Tell them that God's purpose and glory will be manifested and only Jesus's name will stand in eternity after Obama and whoever Antichrist's name etc are long forgotten and consigned to time's footnotes.<><

I need to order that book. And the Ironside's book sounds like something that both me and my husband would like to read. Thank you for recommending that.

I agree. we will start with prayer and end with prayer and pray anytime we feel the need. Thank you for your encouragement.

Thanks! I have one of the Left Behind movies, so I will have them watch that one night.
