Thanks to RNN for alerting me to this story, which is another piece to the Joseph Biden - Colin Powell "international crisis" talking point that they guarantee will occur very soon to test President-elect Barack Obama.

This time the speaker is Richard Haass or, the President of the Council on Foreign Relations and a Bilderberger:

"The one thing I'm sure of is, events will test him. There will be coups. There will be genocide. There will be terrorism."

Soon, President-elect Barack Obama will assume responsibility for guiding the nation out of two wars and through a daunting array of real and potential global crises.

Obama is likely to benefit from initial goodwill across much of the planet, where there's profound relief that the Bush years are ending.

Still, the new president — untested in foreign affairs — faces what may be the most unsettled global scene since the 1930s and '40s.

Strangely enough, we have a story today about Al-Qaida preparing to "change the face of world politics and economics" along with this story from the UK to juxtapose quite nicely with all of this.

I can't remember the last time Al-Qaida or Bin Laden were relevant in the news or made an announcement like this, but here we are in the midst of the chaos considering what might be coming.

"And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draws near." Luke 21:28

Keep looking up!

In a speech, Obama promised the US that the price of electricity would go up as he would force the electric companies to go "green" by either taxing them or penalizing them in some manner, I don't remember which. He assured us, as a nation, that this extra expense would be passed onto us as consumers. Realize, that there are the elderly who live on pensions--who have limited incomes and cannot afford such increases. Obama is not a stupid man--he knows this for a fact. These elderly people who cannot afford the increase in electricity will not use it. They will go without heat or air conditioning so that they can afford their bills. The frail elderly cannot handle the stresses of heat or cold and many will die. This is a subtle form of genocide wherein NOBODY would notice. It's a methodical plan that would somewhat reduce the strain upon the taxpayers when it comes to medicare--and pave the way for socialized healthcare. It's just one way.

...and this HASN'T been going on already in other parts of the world (READ: Iraq) prior to our involvement and when we stepped in, Bush and the US got a huge black eye for our interference. Sadam and those in high in his government were tried and convicted for mass genocide. I believe it was the expectation of those who oppose our involvement in Iraq would be to turn our backs to this activity like they did the death camps in Nazi Germany. It's nothing new. It's just a different president that hasn't been besmudged by the media just yet.

MY concern is what happens domestically, not overseas.

Because of his smile and his grand head-in-the-clouds speeches.
