I actually saw the movie. There were parts in it that were clearly blasphemous. One major issue with the movie was that the "god" character, played by Morgan Freeman, said that the Great Flood was not about wrath, but about love. Well that is a bunch of hooey. It was definitely about God's wrath being poured out on all creation and it will come again but this time by fire.

Anyway that is my opinion.

From the little that I know about it, it seems blasphemous to me.

Could we have a poll on how many actually saw the movie before voting? :aha

That'd be nice, I hate uninformed critics.

Anyway, the nature of the Flood is subjective, I am of the mindset that it WAS love, because he loved the world so much he would rather "start over" with only the souls who praised him, rather then lived in squalor and sin, then just destroy the world totally.

I don't think it's either really, after seeing it personally it's not Christian in the sence that it will do anything to anyone's faith, but not Blasphemous in the way that it's mocking the faith. It's just a joke, a funny one, not as funny as Bruce Almighty though, but I found it a good, amusing movie. Honestly while I loved 40 year old Virgin, it's nice to see Steve in a role that's not just silly sex jokes all day.

Not going to waste my money on the movie... I think 10$ to 20$ to get in get some refreshments ... are a bit too much. I doubt if I even see it on the boubtube.. nor purchase the dvd.

I can't say one way or the other... just from the previews... it looks stupid.

Now that's a critizisim I can like, it IS a pretty dumb humor movie, but then, no one goes to movies like that for deep humor :p, but yea, if you saw the previews you saw the movie basically.

Blasphemous movie.
I don't need to actually see the movie, many other people have already given it fair critique. Check out the pluggedinlonline.com review. The title alone is blasphemous. Evan Alm*ghty! That's not right. There is only one - God Almighty!!!

I saw the movie and it's a good clean movie. It's not poking fun or blasphemus. Just movie for entertainment purposes. If you don't want to see it don't see it. The animals are nice. It's got some very funny lines. And actually it's a good over evil plot. It's about a family sticking together. It's a tale..it's not real. Morgan Freeman is not God and I don't think he will be struck by lightening by "acting" in a movie. I wish God would appear to us, even if it was like that, and talk to us face to face.

I wish God would appear to us, even if it was like that, and talk to us face to face.
God did appear, to chat with Moses' people, and they almost perished.
He came again to chat, more humbly, and we killed Him.
He is coming again for more conversation, and the world better be ready!
