US public opinion is rapidly waking up to the threat posed by global warming, despite the best efforts of the Bush Administration and much of industry to deny the problem.

There has been a double-digit increase in the proportion of Americans who say environmental problems are a major global threat - from 23 per cent to 37 per cent, according to a comprehensive survey published this week by the Pew Centre in Washington.

The environment is increasingly in the news in the US, thanks to violent and unusual weather patterns - mainly floods and severe drought - combined with the rising cost of petrol. The past few days have seen dramatic rainfall across the southern states. More than a foot of rain fell across central Texas and Oklahoma yesterday, with more storms predicted.

Yeah, but here in Alabama I got the first rain at my house since May 3. It rained for 15 minutes.

Well it sure is a hot issue for sure! Here are a few links showing both sides for you to decide for yourself.

http://www.cnn.com/2007/TECH/science/02/02/climate.change.report/

This shows how most scientist say that humans are VERY LIKELY causing global warming.

This report was dated April 29 2007. I don’t know how you can hit the nail n the head any better than this. With Texas having extreme floods Alabama having extreme droughts and I think it was in New Mexico having tornados where they hardly ever have them.

The report found it was "likely" -- "more likely than not" in some cases -- that manmade greenhouse gases have contributed to hotter days and nights, and more of them, more killer heat waves than before, heavier rainfall more often, major droughts in more regions, stronger and more frequent cyclones and "increased incidence" of extremely high sea levels:gaah

Here is a link showing how people are trying to skew information.

It is a really interesting article that shows how some of the TOP scientists in the field who are conservatives and have always been showing how global warming is real and human pollutions are to blame. I saw the updated version in Feb. 2007 that opened my eyes to what is going on.:shocked

Here is the line up for the people who say that global warming is a farce. Or trying to disprove oil has anything to do with it.

One of the big things people are working on now is that there is some evidence that mars has some spots that are warming up so it has to be the sun that is heating the entire solar system. I am not sure how they can say this since we have only brought back data over the past 2 to 3 years when all the opponents of global warming have said that we don’t have enough history on earth from readings over the past 300 years. But all of a sudden now we see a increase in temperature of about 3 to 4 degrees on mars in ONE spot over the past 2 years and it gives us great revelations. Let’s throw out that the orbits are completely different. Earths orbit is very stable while Mars’s orbit in not as circular.

Next you see the articles circulate about how cows are causing global warming. It boggles my mind on how people believe that stuff. The last time I went through Atlanta there were more cars in a traffic jam than there were in all of Georgia. Not to mention how much pollution is going up in china.

I want to say this so people know where I stand on this issue. I want to see the truth come out weather it is man doing it or nature causing it. When I see tales being circulated, I don’t like it because people believe it for one reason or another. I am a conservative and I completely understand how oil affects our economy. We really need it and cutting it off will completely destroy the global economy. If the pollution is causing global warming we need to be working overtime in finding an alternative to our addition to oil. But right now we are only doing minimal research into other alternatives to oil. I know we have some research going on but as a % to our GNP (gross national product) it is peanuts. As things stands now I see much, MUCH more evidence that is showing how our pollution is causing things to heat up. I dont have time to finish this post and will get back to it next week..

After listening to Perry Stone on Rod Parsley's TBN program...this climate change is one of the many signs 'n' wonders Jesus spoke about in Matthew 24. Folks, His rapture of us is nearer than we think!:yeah :yay

Yes, sadly it does not wake people up to repent and turn back to God, but wakes them up to a deception. Certainly, bad weather like we have been seeing could not be judgement or a wakeup call from God since He doesn't really exist right? :ohno

:ohno They will use any excuse to keep people from understanding the truth!! The weather is just Gods prophectic time clock ticking away, may the truth prevail :pray

ALMOST three quarters of people believe global warming is a 'natural occurrence' and not a result of carbon emissions, a survey claimed today.

This goes against the views of the vast majority of scientists who believe the rise in the earth's temperatures is due to pollution.

The online study which polled nearly 4000 votes found that a staggering 71 percent of people think that the rise in air temperature happens naturally.

And 65 percent think that scientists' catastrophic predictions if pollution isn't curbed are 'far fetched'.

Emma Hardcastle, publisher at Pocket Issue which carried out the research, said: "If 71% of people feel that Man has nothing to do with the recent change in our climate then those same people are not going to buy into any movement to reduce their carbon footprint.

Of course there is an increase in reporting on global warming. The MSN outlets are pushing the man-made global warming line like never before. They accept it as fact, they don't refer to it as "likly" to be caused by people, but that it is.

Also everytime they mention it they mention it in ways that make it sound completely true, even though there is a lot of evidence that it isn't man made at all. People get a 30 second sound byte about the issue proclaiming it true, they see Al gore and other global warming proponents getting pats on the back, so they start to accept it.

It is a propaganda war more and more.

After watching the Weather Channel last night, I learned that our part of Arizona are predicting to be experiencing 120s degree temps for four days next week. Then we'll experience a cool down come Friday, July 6th. Whew!!!
