Coming Soon To A Police Force Near You!

This car looks like it can do everything except arrest the bad guys, but couple this car with one of the robots I saw in another thread, and the police force will be almost unstopable.

It's a good thing the police forces are finally getting a dedicated fleet vehicle.

The Dodge Magnums and Chargers are problematic.

The Ford Crown Victoria is being put out to pasture.

No other corporation has a suitable replacement, unless you want the cops to use a Ford Taurus (Robocop's car was a Taurus :lol2 )

This car is equipped with a diesel engine vice a conventional gas-burning engine, meaning fleet fuel economy will improve. Better fleet fuel economy = cheaper operating costs = decreased expense = more budget allowances for law enforcement officers.

I'm not advocating a police state; however, I do believe that metropolitan areas such as LA, NYC, Atlanta, St. Louis, and many others could benefit from a vehicle like this one.

Back a couple of years ago I loaned my truck to someone I felt I could trust. That person betrayed my trust and took off with my vehicle for 4 days, racking up over 900 miles on my pickup. I reported it stolen. You know how I got it back? The guy returned it to me after his friend told him I had reported it stolen.

The cops didn't snag it even though it was 1 of only 2 green 1994 Toyota 4x4s in the area. So, if this car has license plate recognition, good on it! It means that the car would help officers detect stolen license plates as well.

Just my humble opinion though :)

Excellent points. They would be an excellent addition to police forces, providing the cops continue to be human.

Well after the government bails out the auto industry and owns all the rights maybe they will mass produce these babies and give some to every police force?

True. Human being the operative word.

The day robotic cops are no longer just a subject of science fiction is the day that could prove to be evil indeed.

Well after the government bails out the auto industry and owns all the rights maybe they will mass produce these babies and give some to every police force?

You know, they might actually have to do that, with the way things are shaping up with the auto makers.

Good point.
